Since this last update every time u get low the red bars that appear get abnormally large on the left side.... really annoying

I'm experiencing this as well on galaxy S3
Yep, me too on stock rooted Nexus 7 running 4.2.

the same problem on my Nexus 7
Galaxy S2 the same.
It went from a 5% subtile reddish gradient to 25% plain red ugliness !
Probably someone's debug "about to die" code ;-)
