Item Sets?

Are there item sets in AL like there are in PL? Like a matching set of armor, helm, weapon (and maybe even amulet &/or ring) that when equipped together gives a stat bonus and maybe some sparkles (or other visual effect)??

I've only been playing for one day, and I've seen players wearing matching armor & helms, but haven't noticed any sparkling effects, and of course I can't tell if there are any stat bonuses.

None of them have "Sparkles" as in the way of PL sets do yet only gear that sparkles as of now is The plat gear. Maybe in the new cap we see a sparkle ?

Incorrect. Forerunner gear does, too. As for a set bonus, no there is no gear set that gives a bonus. Maybe in the future.

It must be pretty subtle. I haven't noticed any effects on the forerunner gear. Have to look closer I guess.

But does each individual piece sparkle, or does it only sparkle if you got a complete set?

I'm trying to figure out if there is any reason to get a matching set, or just get the individual pieces i like the best.

individual......i can say that just the mage armor alone gives a aura
