Are items from chests based on your level?

If I'm level 16 the bronze/silver/golden chest I open will result in a higher lv items than if I were 14? Or does where you got the chest elite/normal affect the chest loot.

Yep, chests that dropped for my lvl 8 toon, when handed over to my lvl 16 toon, gave me lvl 14-16 items

I don't know about that, for regular chests i usually get lvl 14/15/16 items and for elite chests i've only seen lvl 15/16 pinks
i'm a lvl 16

Not stashable or tradable. At 16 I have pulled many 15 elites instead of 16. Don't know if it was glitched or that is how it is.

*sigh* Wish I started rogue first then. I made a rogue just for elite farming-- but don't want to grind for the cap
