Opening Tower of Mardrom chests

What's the deal with that, some dude just yelled at me for opening the chest in the second floor and left in the middle of the run. Was he on his period? Or does that really change something? I honestly have no idea, I always farm Jarl because it's twice as fast, so I don't know the tricks on farming Tower.

Dont worry about it. Its a myth that if you dont open chests you'll get better loot. Which doesnt make sense because its all random drops and chests are on a diffrent loot table i believe.

Jeez, happened twice already. The irony is that I got a golden banded chest out of the same run. Just gonna have to deal with it.

Probably just on his period. Sam confirmed in this thread that opening chests does nothing.

Or you could offer the guy a friendly tip. If he doesn't change his underwear for two days, his chances at a gold chest increases.

Haha, happened to me too. Some guy raged that I opened a chest on the second floor. I got a golden banded later on.

This is about the chests sitting around the maps that anyone can open. There is a widespread and hilariously stupid superstition that forbids opening of any chests to get a better boss drop.

The most annoying part about it is the timer. Angry idiots get mad when you open the chest and just leave. Usually after screaming some obscenities and calling people noobs. Problem this creates is that nobody else can join and often means others will leave. Time wasted.

Once or twice this is ok. But I've gone 30 minutes in pugs and not completed a full Tower Run.

I don't think this myth is going away any time soon. The problem is the idiots are so numerous loud and unwilling to listen to reason that even reasonable people don't open chests just so they'll shut up and not break up the run. This just propagates the superstition.

The trick is to open the chests in PLAIN SIGHT of your whole team. Then you can just call them idiots if they complain and sometimes it's funny.

Just buy the chests off auction if ur feeling lucky :? the prices are not worth the trouble , jarl is much easier and faster imo .

Yeah, I'd say 8/10 runs I hear about this, 1/20 I have someone quit over it.

I really like when they call you a noob for opening a chest, when in reality it's a noobish thing to believe in a rumor that the devs themselves debunked.
