If you have a pet in your stable, is it possible to get another egg for the same pet from drops or daily quests? Or can you only get the eggs once and then you have to buy them in AC?

If you have a pet in your stable, is it possible to get another egg for the same pet from drops or daily quests? Or can you only get the eggs once and then you have to buy them in AC?
You can get an egg of a pet you already have.
Also, once you get a second, I do believe that the game will not allow you to open the second so you don't lose out on sliding it to another toon or selling it.
