Best late game tank

I just deleted my main and I want to make a toon that can tank loads of damage and also deal a bit but can run in and just take the agro, so what I wanted to ask is a bear or a rhino better for this job and what str/dex ratio should I take and what skills should I max first and why?

Bear with enough st to equip st gear, rest in dex.
My rhino can't compare with my bear as a tank. To do damage as a rhino it seems to take a lot of mana, and his taunt doesn't cut it as a tank, also he has no beckon.

Rhino use str for high armor and int for mana for buffs

Rhino also has 200hp less to start with than bear.

Best setup is... Bear agro and rhino heals and supports.

But charge hits one foe, even if you use one of the aoe attacks without a good beckon or taunt, when a pure dex comes in THEY will gain aggro from a rhino that cannot compete with that kind of damage.
Bears taunt and beckon, are ranged and hit multiple foes.
Bears are best tanks.

What str do I need then, then ill put rest into dex

Depends on what lev you are aiming for. Check the best st gear at that lev, then there is you minimum st requirement.

Beckon > Charge.

12m > 8m

Multiple targets > Single target

Bears win.

Without a doubt bears are better tanks. Rhino's may have slightly better survivability than bears but they make up for this ten folds with superior crowd control.

Rhino has no beckon, the taunt may make a few enemies wander on over to you eventually and when they finally make it to you your best damage spell scatters them all over the place lol.

A bear with 157 dex (for swift set) then rest str, using swift talon set, you dont have to worry about hit rate%, and you can deal some damage with swift talon set. If you are looking for a real tank bear, i suggest 157 str and rest dex using a savage set.

By waddling up behind him, I hope you mean beckoning crowds of enemies and stomping them away+ stun.
The bear doesn't go to the enemy. The enemy comes to him.
