Yes, that gear is bad in PvP and PvE, but plat is used to buy elixirs and elixirs are used to get to the level cap for premium gear. Plus you said vanities. ALL PREMIUM VANITIES COST PLATINUM!!! The only vanities that don't cost plat are event vanities, hoosh hats, and sort of dragon vanities (elixir use). 99.99% of people with over a million gold have bought plat before to get their riches... You could argue that platinum indirectly makes pro players.

Ikr, any decent bird, mage, and bear would kill the most skilled fox/rhino wearing a black valient ring without wearing any elite ring. They don't fix stats and say a 10-15armor 50-55hp ring will make a difference when they need more offensive skills.
Sorry, but with your multiple posts, and threats to LW over some pixelated items, it's hard to take you serious. But here's my response.
Shield of Gratitude was given to the people that bought all the maps when they cost plat to access.
Not all vanities have lost their stats. Founders, and the party hats still have stats.
The elite vanities lost their stats because a few whiny *female dogs* couldn't wait to cap 3x to have the same bonus.
The rings will be available to you once you cap 2x and elite for 3x.
I support your thought process, but there was a huge discussion about this over a year ago. In the end, it does offer an unfair advantage to PVP people. Until STS can come up with a way to eliminate vanity bonuses while in a PVP arena, then it's pointless to suggest.

1-76 does count as one cap. I capped at 56, 61, 66, 71. That's about 500k in xp just for those 4 elite levels. If I go for 76, that's another 100k. Rhinos and foxes can get the 2 piece ring next cap, and 3 piece at the 86 cap.

Where do I start? I have been around for a good couple of years. I capped three toons at 56, three at 61, five at 66, five at 71 and three at 76. I am not ashamed to say I used platinum for the last 4 caps. A heck of a lot of platinum. So much platinum that I dare not look at my account to see exactly how much. But, that is personal to me. There is no way on earth I would wear a vanity or anything connected with showing off the amount of platinum I have spent. Neither would I want to look at other players wearing such things. What a hideous and revolting idea. If it should happen....it would be my last day in pl. I am pretty sure STS would never lower themselves to that level.

I don't think STS would want to piss off a big group of players in favor of a few. aside from how much each player is spending, they are also looking at potential revenues.
any subscription base MMO usually runs for how much? around $9 to $15?
so using that as a standard, let's say a common player is likely to willingly spend about $10 a month, that's 75 plats in game. which isn't much based on the requirements you suggested to receive rewards.
and if STS goes with your suggestion, and let's just say for 1 big spending player, 20 common players are pissed off and stop buying plats or eventually quit..
then that's $200 monthly potential revenue lost.
can they recover that $200 revenue from a single player?
Even if the answers is yes, by keeping the 20 common players, they can potentially bring in more players, thus increasing their potential revenue.
if players keep leaving due to unfair game balance or feeling they are in disadvantage. guess what, the ones that are left still playing the game would probably eventually stop feeling "special" or they will find it harder and harder to have others to team up with. And just may eventually quit..
So i don't think it's a good approach.
but, none of my statements above are factual, in fact they maybe far from facts lol.
I'm just stating my opinion.
I do agree that the ones who buy lots of platinum should be rewarded, but just not in a way that would make others feel disadvantaged.

I disagree ...platinum buyers do not need rewards. They already have all the advantages. What could be worse than flaunting that in ppls faces? Really! This is an obscene way to try and lord it over people who do not have the same advantages as others. You'll all be wanting non plat buyers to polish your armour next!

Anyways, I agree with the original purpose to some degree. Those who spend a lot of money should be rewarded far, far more than they are. However, I don't think it should be in terms of stats unless there is an alternate means of obtaining these same stats without spending money on platinum.
Give them a cool hat! Give them access to places others can't go! Give them pets, armors, free crafted sets, whatever! But don't give them something that puts them above others stat-wise. That will destroy the casual game player base which makes up the majority of PL anyways because people will feel obligated to spend money in order to succeed.
This isn't rocket science. Incentive is everything.
Hai! For the record I agree with Suentous that Angel sets (along with several other vanitites) were already given... I for one was.. AM very happy with the Angel sets!
I agree with Happiness that any from of bragging to show the exact level of your RL money spent in-game would be awful!
Personally, I would like a vainity to show what kinda car I drive!(no typo, obv. jk!)
