Elixirs from Klaas going away while not in game?

So I came back recently after taking a little break. I noticed that when I get elixirs from Klaas they seem to go away as if I were in game running dungeons. For example logged in this afternoon and got a speed
Elixir and then logged off. Came back on few hours later and noticed the elixir is gone. Is this a bug or did they include it in a recent patch?

The way ally elixirs are done was changed recently.

From the content update thread:

• The expiry timer for Elixirs granted by Shazbot and Klaas will always count down, even if you log out of the game. Note that this is NOT the case for Elixirs bought from the store.
