Most likely it is the amount of people on the server. I am guessing the main servers are being overworked at the moment. A lot of people play these games.

That's where another realm/server would come in. There could be a limit on how many people in one server, and if one is full, you can join another. It used to be like this in Pocket Legends nearer the launch in 2010.

Unfortunately, I hadn't even started playing until 2011, so I didn't get a chance to play in the other realm.
