    Default How to choose your pet - For all sorcerer buddies :)

    Below you will find some of my analysis for my sorcerer buddies for choosing their pet according to the game strategy they wanna adopt during play...
    Significant Parameters considered for decision making are:

    1.Final Damage = [Base Damage + % extra damage from pet * Base damage]
    2.Arcane Shield Protection = [((2*STR)+INT)*3.5] .... (Fully charged shield)
    3.Stuns

    Whole analysis is done by taking changes on my base stats, will work the same for you also in a similar way...
    Only those pets have been chosen which make significant changes and effects to player and enemies ... (Some are dropped like Granite, McCraw etc. .. these pets are not important for sorcerers)
    Have not given much importance to critical cos unlike rogues we mages get very small chances to hit high critical damages .. for those who like critical.. I have added a separate column for that...
    So go on .. Make a choice for which pet u wanna play with

    1. final dmg,
    -is it from the skills or pet dmg?
    - who did you hit to get those final dmg number?
    2. arcane shield prot points,
    -how did you come up with the numbers? would like to know so i can do some math.

    Everything is from Pets with their effect on your INT,STR,Damage, Final Damage,etc...
    Have mentioned Base stats on TOP...
    For Final damage = Base Damage + (%extra dmg from pet * Base Damage)
    Arcane Shield= ((2*STR)+INT)*3.5

    good work, man. additional points to be considered about the pet arcane ability are -
    1) cooldown time
    2) active duration
    3) physical range

    I ran your slag and colton damage numbers with max gear (all mythic) and the difference is a little bigger.

    397.04 with slag
    397.65 with colton

    So Colton gives even more, due to the way bonus damage works.

    You left out how they affect HP, for example I have 2542 with colton and 2672 with slag. I think that's a fair trade for 0.6 damage.

    yes, range is important, but its difficult to quantify ..

    good point .. another example is Orion .. it adds 160 health via happiness bonus but that doesn't get reflected in STR ..

    i understand this post is meant for endgame .. but just a small note that some buffs which are not so attractive at endgame shine out at lower levels, like the +80 armor from Koko

    There is an error in dmg reduction column. Malison doesn't apply dmg reduction debuff but hit reduction.

    That's what I thought, and should have seen when I did the numbers (because I have more +dmg than you), it it's not. Bonus damage will continue to make the spread grow farther apart. With Slag I have a bonus damage of 288%, with Colton it is 295%. Unless there is a cap on bonus damage (soft or hard), Colton will always have that additional 7%.

    Malison is not supposed to apply dmg reduction, he is supposed to apply hit and armor reduction debuff.

    Infact.. 2 other pets to look out for future are Flapjack and Loki .. 15% damage bonus..

    Hey Link! I noticed you have Talon listed twice with 2 different stat results. He is listed 8th from the top and also last on the list. I am currently running Slag, Malison, Kettle, Orion, and Ribbit all have reached pet lvl 30 on my mage. Had a great 2x weekend!

    Looking at either Colton or Clyde but may wait to see what new pets come out. I also using Aspen as a temp pet till I find something better to lvl up. Loki probably will be added shortly to replace Aspen. Prefer legendary pets over epic due to dmg and crit factors they have.
