Locked Watch Crates Scam

There was a guy in town today who kept offering "Will open grand watch crates for 5k".

Now just a couple of points here:

1) It takes 15 plat to open a crate. If you take the 15 plat and use it to purchase gold, you can get 15k gold which is more than 5k. So even if this guy was being honest, he's an idiot.

2) If you assume he is being honest and will not cheat you, he will get any achievements from getting an arcane or mythic item, since he is the one who loots it.

3) There is no way for you to know what items come out of the crate since you can't watch him open it. So you can't really even know if he cheated you or not. He can just give you back two purples and a common shipmaster pink item and you won't know if that's what really came out of the crate

I pointed this out to everyone who was chatting with him, and he got angry and said he was just doing it to help people. I had a good laugh at that.

WOW. Even though you can't transform 15 platinums into 15000 gold since it's 50 platinum minimum, but man, scammers these days.

Yep, I wanted to see whatd he do and I wanted proof. So I bought a crate from cs, gave it to him. 2 seconds later he says Oooo Lucky, and put puts an agile trollbane of fatality, lvl 20, worth 2k. Oh btw he was lvl 24 T_T

If I had to guess, I'd say:
95% chance he was a scammer
4.9% chance he was an idiot
0.1% chance he did it out of the goodness of his heart.

Pretty much what I was thinking! So for sure 100% idiot at the bare minimum. Not even smart enough to A know that crates give openers lvl and B know that trollbanes aren't in em whatsoever. That's awesome

Omg wow. Some players are so scuzzy. Is there not a report feature in game where you can describe what the.player is doing?

Since we're talking about scammers, here's one I encountered today.

I didn't have the patience to play along with him, so made it clear, in a polite way, that I didn't believe a thing what he was saying.

Scammer, idiot or an honest to god guy? I'll let you decide

I don't think the moderators or devs care too much about reports in the first place, I'm sure u all have seen jayquam talking all kinds of really nasty crude things in town for hours on end. I've reported him multiple times and nothing seems to be done about it. Just saying...don't put too much faith reporting someone will accomplish anything. It doesn't bother me too much till I think about my nine year soon who also plays the game seeing the filth this guy types

if only given proof these scammers should be banned. any news? would like to know ... rather than getting replies like "support is looking into this..."
