What to spend my plat on??

Got a whole load of plat but I'm unsure what to spend it on. Pure crates?

Or should I wait for new content before spending them?

We can't decide what kind of clothes you should buy for you, well it's kind of the same thing here.

Well, if you're really into spending tons of platinums with maybe never getting one (I did spend about 4000 platinums in opening crates to receive crap only) then you can try.
