My exp after level cap is raised

So i'm level 25 right now and if I get my exp to lets say 20000/26000, what would happen to it after they raise the level cap? When they raise it, the exp needed to get from level 25 - 26 would be about 3200? So if i have that 20000 exp, will I jump 3 levels or something? Or will it erase all my exp since I didn't hit the cap?

If you're 77 percent of the way to 26 before a new cap, you'll be 77 percent of the way to 26 after new cap.
