combo blessing question

2x exp+1.25x combo=2.25x or 3.25x exp? I dont really get it.

2.25xp is correct, 1.0 is just your base gaining.

See it as a percentage. 1.25xs in this case is 125% which is only 1/4 better than your original 100%. Your 2xs is 200% which is only 100% more than your base 100%. So you add them up, Base Exp= 1.0 + 1.25xs= 0.25 + 2xs= 1.0 and you get 2.25x's more than your original exp gaining.
