In the beginning of a season most players level their main and play the new maps. Thus less twink activity.
Season 6 is getting "old" and the twink activities are starting again.
Some try PVP at endgame and recognize that you need to be in a PVP guild, have lots of gold (Arcane weapon, Samael, arcane ring) to be a good player and that there are too many "cheaters".
Fights like "stun,terror,terror,terror - dead" rarely happen in twink levels. Even switching skills doesn't happen, since you have to choose every skill point wisely.
When the new mythic weapons will be released I bet that the twinking activity will get another boost.
Prices for gear are rising again already, buy your gear as long as it's cheap.
