1) Like Supah said, you can very rarely find a pet egg as loot (item drop from enemies). If you have the Luck Elixir active, or a Leprechaun Pendant equipped, you will have a higher chance to find one. You can always purchase a pet egg in the Consignment House/Auction in any town except Windmoore and the prices vary depending on the pet that is inside. These eggs are found in the Chests section of your inventory.
2) Also as Supah said, finding items and selling them is your best bet in the beginning of Arcane Legends, as well as doing daily quests (the gold does add up). The items types are Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Vanity, Mythic, and Arcane. The only things valuable enough to sell are Epic-Arcane. The Leprechaun Pendant is worth 150 platinum or ~180,000 gold. So if you can get the Leprechaun Pendant, you can look for Locked Grand Crates of the Watch (Valuable item in Arcane Legends) in Brackenridge or Kraken Tombs 3 as loot from the bosses (But you wont always find them). You can sell these to other players at around 12-13k each.
3) Here is my preferred guide to lvling (based on personal experience):
•Lvl 1-14 Brackenridge & Ydra
•Lvl 15-20 Watcher's Tombs or Dead City
•Lvl 21-22 Kraken Isles
•Lvl 23-29 Nordr
•Lvl 30-36 Shuyal
