So far the population has spoken.....it looks like almost everyone prefers a No Arcane rule, and to be honest, I am glad for it.

This contest is for you folks, so, I will see it done. Voting will be tallied until the end of the day, but at this point, I think it is safe to line up your teams assuming No Arcane will be the rule in effect.

Lol, why don't you give the prizes directly to the first place lb holders? And how are u going to determine if all the guilds respect the officers/recruiters rule. The contest concept is flawed imho.

Also lol at the no arcane items rule, like someone is going to tell you if they used arcane items or not.

Just don't make rules over things you can't realitically check, especially when this contest is for multiple guilds.

Contests like treasure hunts are more suitable, where gear is not all and where you also need brains.

Well, we probably live in two different environments in the game. Guilds that concentrate on elite PvE gameplay usually have no problem trusting people. I could add a comment about moral standards of certain PvP LB leaders but I don't want to add more flames.

A few things I'd like to point out is that Remiem and the other mods will be snooping into the contest runs randomly. If they report to me that Arcane items or pets were used, the ENTIRE GUILD will be banned from this contest and every future contest I will be hosting.

Second, I am a numbers person. I know how long these maps take to run with various forms of elixirs and pure. I know how long it takes to run in an average party and an elite one. I will be doing time analysis on the posted screenshots and if I find a post that is highly suspect and out of line with their other runs, I will call them on it.

Can I stop folks that are truly intent on cheating? No.

Does that mean I should completely change the vision of this contest because of the threat of cheaters? No

Do you want to be the one that brings dishonor to your guild because you are a cheater? I certainly hope not. This is a highly visible event, and the shame you would bring down on your guild if you get caught should be enough disincentive.

Frankly, no contest can be run without a modicum of trust. I trust that those that are participating will honor the spirit of this contest and play by the rules.

I think you should stop lying to people. If the server was logging the items used in runs, the server would prolly crash. And even if it did log all this data, you would still have no idea on when the run took place.

Keep in mind this contest involves plat prizes. Either find a real way of enforcing the rules or dont giveaway plat at all. I don't care how you choose to giveaway your gold though.

You seem to be rather fixated on the aspect of cheating. Feel free to NOT participate, or host your own, if you have so many issues with the format of this contest.

In the meantime, I WILL be trusting the players that participate, and I would appreciate it if you kept your trolling elsewhere.

Those that want to follow the rules will follow the rules. Those that want to break the rules will break the rules. Its up to you of course. Its very similar to a lot of the other discussions that happen on the forum. "If they are going to do it... so are we". Well, that's up to you my friend. Others will follow the rules set in place in hopes for true competition.
