Pick your character!
That's the first thing that comes up after you log in. You have the choice of a Ranger, Paladin, Warrior, Archer, and Enchantress.
The ranger is more of a dagger weilding girl, who does lots of damage and has a heal over time skill. She works well with bows as well.
The paladin is more of a Buff-Heal guy, his specialty is mostly two handed swords, axes or clubs and will attack also.
The warrior is a front line fighter who is known for his armor, and works well with a bow as a Dexterity build. His criticals are higher than other characters when buffed, and can be quite the helper in battle.
The archer was born with a bow. He mostly stays behind to shoot different kinds of arrows and buff himself to improve his accuracy.
The enchantress is a must-have for pretty much all battles. She has brilliant healing effects that can heal in a large radius, and can revive fallen players. She also has a lot of splash damage spells, and can buff multiple players other than herself.
Which path do you follow?
You sit there, cozy in your chair, watching the opening clip. But you have NO clue what awaits you.
Until now!
You're level one.
Right about now you should be in a forest, a nice mage, warrior or someone else, ready to take on zombies. First we need to go over parts of the screen. The red bar is your health, which goes down when an enemy attacks you. Don't let it get empty! Use potions and healing spells wisely! The blue bar below the health meter is mana. When you cast a spell or use a skill, your mana decreases. Don't let it get empty either, or you can't use spells until it regains! Use mana potions wisely. The yellow bar below that is your xp bar, which tells you what level you are now and how far you are to the next level. The shield beside that is the menu, where you can look at your backpack, current skills, and change gameplay settings. Now let's kill some zombies! BUT WAIT. What I recommend you do before killing ANYTHING is to tap the shield in the upper left. Select "Avatar", and click 'disable auto leveling'. Click yes to confirm. That way you can spend your training points as you see fit for different builds. Now click the arrow in the upper left. Now, how to move? Use the joystick. Then walk toward the zombies. See that weapon in the lower right? Tap on it. PC users, press [space]. You will attack the zombie until it is defeated. Do this to a few more zombies.
You're level two.
See that bird over there? With the question mark? These people will have a ? when you are done with a quest. People with a ! over them have main quests or side quests, or even daily quests for you to do. Tap on him. The prisoner is free! And you have your first skill. Once the prisoner is free, a gate will open, and more zombies will appear. Try out your skill! Defeat all the zombies in that area and...
You're level three.
Your next skill should be a splash damage skill, which hurts multiple enemies in a certain range. This is only obtained by clicking the shield and then clicking "Skills" or "Abilities." You will have to click the new skill, then click upgrade to make it level one. You'll have to do this with every new skill. Clicking on skills here also says what the skill does. Then click the Yellow button below it to see a bunch of dark red dots. This is where you put your new skills, every time you get a new one. Put it anywhere you wish on the grid, and it will appear there in your skills section on the gameplay screen.
But a demon appears. Use your new skills to attack him!
Victory! Treasure chests will appear. When you see one, hit it with your weapon to get some gold, which you can spend in-game.
There will be another bear with a ? Tap on him and get some more xp! Now, see that portal ahead? Run into it to begin your journey!
You are now in Forest Haven Chapter 1, most likely with other players.
This is where chat comes into play. From here on out, you must rely on chat to give orders, say what you are selling, or just to greet your friends. And on your journey, you will make quite a few. We'll get to chat in a minute.
There should be a bird with a ! over his head. Tap on him to get your first quest. Quests may ask you to collect something, defeat monsters or a boss, or talk to another NPC. Take the quest and follow its orders. To your left, notice a check mark. It should be yellow. Click on it, and you will find your current quest. Now we can start talking!
To the top of the screen, there is a clear box with words and an arrow. Click the arrow to see what people recently said, and tap the box to say something. You should have read the terms of use before playing, but remember not to say something that could get you muted, which includes bad, words, and getting reported for saying mean things. You can use chat to give orders such as "I'll take this monster and you take that one." Or "I need healing fast!" If you are with more players, just say hello!
Use your new skills on the zombies. When you get a bit farther into the level, you'll see a witch.
Silknight!
She can summon zombies, and that's not good! She will sink into the ground, ready to strike elsewhere! Defeat the surrounding zombies and then talk to the bird near the trailer. He will have your next quest and reward! Then do what that quest says.
Around now, you should be getting some new gear! If you got a notification saying: You recieved: (item here) then you have a new item!
Items are classified as trash, common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary, or newly added elite. Trash is a light gray text, common is white text, uncommon is yellow text, rare is teal text, epic is purple text, legendary is pink text, and elite is dark purple, but is super rare! You should be getting anywhere from trash items to uncommon. When you tap on an item, it will show you how much damage it does or how much armor it has. There are many elements your character has, including criticals, damage, and armor. Armor, weapons, and helmets can boost these elements and more. Equip your new item. It should give you a better edge in battle. Let's fight some more zombies.
Suddenly, the boss. The great zombie king MEAT HEAD!
