Well i am late as hell on probably the most epic thread ever. Much has been said about the mainstream anime (bleach, naruto, one piece ecc) so i will leave them out of my list:

Dragon ball/Dragon ballZ(cant leave this out.. it made my youth)

Yuyu Hakusho(Good anime)

Berserk(Best story line, best plot twists and imo best protagonist/antagonist i have ever come across)

Bast*rd! (Crazy anime lol)

Capeta ( good anime about the world of formula 1, cars and races)

Gintama

Out of all anime and manga though Berserk is and will always be my favourite. Its just too good and intense to not be the best imo.



As for me i ll try out some anime i saw here starting from Attack on titan. Fufufufu

Currently reading Attack on titan manga(personally i prefer reading the mangas than watching the anime...artworks maniac)

From what i have seen till now, titans eating humans :3, its a Dark fantasy , which is equal to instalike for me.

Can someone advise me more good darkfantasy anime/manga he thinks i should dig(thanks)?

Try out "Berserk" or "Mirai Nikki"(Future Diary). Both has "Dark Fantasy"(Horror) and "Berserk" has amazing art..
Nice to see that you have liked claymore! Sadly they have not drawing it anymore (It was not so popular back then).. But you can read manga to know what is going on later! So maybe you could just try to read manga instead of watching another anime?

I have read berserk and its my favourite manga till date thats the style i like and even full metal alchemist can be considered dark fantasy n i liked it too(sweet plot twists somehow similar to Aot)
So monsters, slaughter, blood and last but not the least A GOOD STORY LINE n i am in for it. I will start reading claymore as soon as i finish Attack on titans. Thanks

Already done hehe. Pretty sad Berserk anime only covered up to Eclipse, was very well done up to that. And yes, a lot of good anime require you to pick up the manga to keep going, which is their original purpose after all (anime's designed to promote the manga). Some are not worth it, either because they screw up the plot afterwards or because the fail to keep the capturing elements on the static art (eg. Attack on Titan is much much better on screen than on paper).

I did like the death-tourney/survival game plot in Mirai and especially enjoyed the happy ending - wasn't a fail of a happy ending as in Guilty Crown for example (great anime as well, haven't read manga but in anime at least they destroyed ending). If you liked it (Mirai) as well I suggest Btoooom! and Danganronpa (Btoooom has kickass art on manga as well, dunno about the later).


A side suggestion off my top five.. Demon King Daimaou! Seriously, just watch it! @endy & everyone

Deadman Wonderland, didn't like anime near as much as the manga, BUT definetly worth watching if you like death game/survival stuffs.
