The Arlor Lottery (Gold sink)

THIS POST HAS BEEN CLEANED UP. AFTER SOME THOUGHT I HAVE COME UP WITH A FINAL IDEA.

The idea of the lottery system is to help Arlors economy by creating a gold sink. To enter you simply buy a ticket from the lottery NPC by going to a town. The lottery lasts 24 hours and the ticket price depends on what type of lottery it is (Read below).

THE FINAL IDEA:

TO ENTER THE LOTTERY:
Go to any town. Find the lottery NPC (Name hasn't been decided)
Purchase a ticket from him. And wait to see if you've won after 24 hours. If you've won you'll be notified on your alerts and you can go claim your prize from him.

NORMAL LOTTERY SYSTEM:
This is where you pay 5k to enter and the prize is 100k. This lottery happens once a day and lasts 24 hours so everyone can enter. You also win the lottery exlcusive vanity which is tradable.

SUPER JACKPOT WEEKEND:
This is a special weekend event. (Doesn't happen every weekend)
For every person that enters the jackpot is increased by 2.5k.
Ticket price stays the same.


MYTHIC LOTTERY:
This happens once a month. Costs 50k to enter so people don't abuse it by making loads of accounts. You have a chance to win ANY MYTHIC EGG. You also win the vanity. No gold is included in the payout so its a PURE gold sink.

ARCANE LOTTERY:
This also happens once every month. It costs 100k to enter. You have a chance to win ANY ARCANE EGG. As this happens 12 times a year, And there are 6 arcane eggs. Each month has a SPECIFIC egg that will be up for grabs and it will go in the order in which they released. Etc. First month hammerjaw then glacian then samael.
This is so that the same egg isn't given away twice (Which can happen if its a random egg). You also win the exclusive lottery vanity. This is also a PURE gold sink.

Well either way they still have to pay gold.
Make multiple lotteries run at the same time so they cant enter in a specific one.

i like this idea however i do think that if this were implemented Jackpots should be higher than 100k
If you dont make the grand prize worth winning why play at all
and lets face it 100k doesnt go very far in this game.

In order to make people buy the tickets i would think the prize needs to be 500k or higher but also with a stipulation that X amount of players need to purchase a ticket in order for the drawing to take place.
In the case that not enough players entered the lottery than everyone would simply cash in their original voucher for the original purchase price.

Also another idea as far as lottery is concerned is maybe make a once a week or bi-weekly drawing with an arcane egg or another highly sought after item as the prize instead of gold.
Perhaps a new exclusive item that can ONLY be won by winning said lottery.

I mean i do agree with you, but i am thinking on a grander scale.....think of how many people would play. ALOT
The higher the prize's value the more people that would play thats all im saying.

Maybe have 3 lotterys, a daily lottery grand prize being say 500k for the winner, a weekly with the grand prize being idk 2million perhaps.

and lastly maybe a bi-weekly or monthly lottery giving a grand prize of an exclusive item or pet.

I highly doubt it, it has been suggested many times. Could be a great thing if it were implemented because it would give the average joe non plat user a chance at "striking it rich"

Hope is a powerful thing, give people hope in getting those exclusive items they will be more likely to stay

What if the gold amount was.calculated by the game, say 1 person enters it gives 2.5k (lol), say 10k people enter (5mil of gold) the prize is 750k gold? Or somesuch like that.

Appreciated the feedback arg, But I dont think its a good idea to give away arcanes. Maybe increase the jackpot to about 200k, And add in a bonus prize such as a lottery exclusive vanity.

Question, would the ticket be located in stable or will it be in your inventory?

The idea has been suggested multiple times, but I don't think there was ever any developer input. Just goes to show that there must be a money-making component in it for the company.

Maybe have the Lottery NPC randomly spawn in PvE maps and let plat-spenders have an option of buying the ticket with plat directly from the NPC in a town.

I like it. How about we expand this and make a "casino hall". You can play blackjack, slots, poker..lol. Or just at the home page give people a choice between playing this game or a slot game.

Idea is nice but it dont fix our problem. AL's economy is messed up because of super rich merchers/plat farmers that make too high prices. They dont mind a loss of 5k ...

Theres a lot of people who'd enter to win 100k with just 5k. If that's not enough increase the payout or decrease the ticket cost.

Yeh I agree for us 100k doesn't go far but think about when we first started the game, 10k went far for me lol
100k to a new player is the equivalent to a mill for us...

This will bring a slight element of fun into the game as let's be honest it's dieing out and give new players a chance to get gold although losing 5k would kill them lol
