To put this all in perspective, this event was something fun and festive and, for the designers, something extra that they did on top of all of the hard work they are putting into the expansion. Just because you don't see it publicly yet doesn't mean that the designers/devs are by any means just kicking back and twiddling their thumbs. Remember that we work for months and months on new content before it goes live, especially new caps and expansions.
