Hey everyone,
In light of the recent misunderstanding related to the Lightning skill for Sorcerer's and the "Positive Surge" upgrade, we want to get ahead of the discussion in regards to Aim Shot's "Critical Shot" upgrade.
For those unaware, the wording previously indicated that critical hit damage for Lightning Strike's "Positive Surge" went from 150% to 250%. This has since been changed to reflect that this is an increase of 66% over the base Lightning skill. The wording has changed to be more in line with how other abilities are described, as well as reflect what the upgrade was actually doing.
With that in mind, Aimed Shot's "Critical Shot" upgrade description is nearly identical to this. The wording will change to a similar phrasing of "Increases the damage dealt by a critical Aimed Shot by 66%." This is based on how the damage is actually being calculated. This effectively the same as the details for the Lightning Strike upgrade.
For those curious how this actually breaks down mathematically from the way the description is, here you are:
.66 * 1.50 = ~1. 1+1.5 = 2.5 or 250%, an increase of 66%
or in other words...
66% of 150% = 100%, 150% + 100% = 250%. This is where the 66% increase on critical damage came from.
In both instances, 150% is the amount of damage dealt on a critical hit for the base skill.
Thanks guys!
