gems or jewels

those were good old days using gems in items. but now we got jewels. a guy was arguing with me saying gems are better. i just said he is a noob (i was playing with my lvl 17 char he is lvl 46) lol. so i said gems give 6+ to an item at most per socket where noble jewels give 8+. he wasnt happy with me calling him a noob. lol

You were right, mostly, but grand gems give +7 @ level 43+

Certain gems are far better than jewels: paracelsus soul stones and eyes.

Jewels are a big fail. Its actually cheaper to get a grand primary stat gem than a noble jewel...

This is of course not including the special event gems - tarlok, eye of syrillax and Paracelsus' soul stone.
