I'd rather have a leaderboard ruled by dummy farmers, than no leaderboard at all imo. Even back when there were leaderboards, for example a rogue at endgame could easily , with time and effort, get onto the leaderboards. There just isn't anything to strive for anymore, you play for ages and get tens of thousands of kills and no rewards..
