Return of the Forgotten Vanity Event - Suggestions for 2021

If you mean some system that would allow any equipment item to be converted into a vanity - this is far outside the scope of the Forgotten Vanity mini-event.



I disagree. An event like this makes it an even playing field for anyone to collect a particular vanity look; as opposed to strictly favoring players who held onto the equipment item (which has other intrinsic value - namely stats).

You did state on the other thread that you don't plan to release those extremely rare stat equipment as vanities (to avoid massive outcry), and by that I'd assume those collectibles that costs 100m upwards; Heraldrics, Criers etc..

Since you don't plan to release them anyways, then this is where the vanity shards come to play.

Yes. I understand the suggestion, and it's worth considering for the future. To clearly set expectations: a 'vanity shard' system is too large and too complex to fit in to the Forgotten Vanity mini-event. :-)

Back in 2013 we had a forum event where we were able to design our own banner. Which was granted to the player at the end. Maybe it would be nice when this can be done with vanity us creating our own vanity. Just an idea.

This was done a couple of years ago again for top 10 goblin event.

Already said old existing vanities won't be coming up on this event.
Only old stat only equipment and no rarities like lb set.

@cinco then how about the forerunner set ,crier and black heraldic?
It isn't LB ,it's lost with time so appropriate to this event.it looks good.

While I personally love the look of the crier, heraldic and forerunner sets, I think to bring them back for this event would do a disservice to those who ran hard for the journeyman (og and blue) vanities. I have neither of those as they always seem to happen while I’m on break (cue Ross). The black spider armor looks a lot similar but is not very preferable because it’s not rare. Let’s face it, the grass is greener on the other side and people keep wanting what they don’t/can’t have. I came back to the game a half a year ago and kept wanting new vanities. My favorite vanity combinations are all pretty achievable but still cute (though a ghost medusa set wouldn’t hurt).

That said, absolutely agree with demonlord and poseidon sets, nordr jewel (lawd that’s prettyyyy and I’m not even a mage), entangled bow, dreamscape machetes (I’ve been saying this FOREVER), and the betrayer-looking sets (please bring the yellow epic version).

I would like to recommend reducing the drop rate by half or more this year. Last year there was soooooo many in auction the prices became worthless after a couple days. Would be nice to be able to get good gold for our hard work this year

Good stuff so far! I'll be directing the Designers to review this entire thread in-depth before the final cut is made. I think this year's Forgotten Vanity event is gonna be lit! (no cap) :-)

Some quick feedback on the feedback: stuff that only exists for NPCs and monsters is unlikely to be considered for this event because it doesn't fit the criteria (of existing stat equipment that currently doesn't exist as vanity). Requests to return stuff that already exists as a vanity ('specially a rare one) will be ignored like last time.

Only makes sense to add recipes to kraag vendor for heraldic sets and so on as to a collector it would sort of be a kick in the teeth considering there still in game and players grind hard to afford but to make them common would make them boring to collect and wear + some whent down the rout of collecting to showcase Al over time for exsample VIP and so on to make everything common after all the effort gold and time would be a little silly
