Both.
A few seconds without oxygen prompts a shutdown of brain, and fainting, leading to worse.
Also I don't think CO2 is what is a killer, but CO1, carbon monoxide. It actually replaces oxygen in blood and stops its absorption. Too much CO2 just means you aren't taming anything in. Both are bad lol
