Preview: Lovecrafting 2024!

Everyone could use a hug now and then, and none more than the legendary Hugthulu and Hugthulu Prime. They're back, but it's up to you if you'll accept their deadly embrace.

Getting Started

Speak to Cupid in Windmoore to learn more about the Lovecrafting Event and the huggable threat that Arlor faces. He'll direct you to the portal where you can spend energy to enter the event zone.



NEW this year:

• Unlike last year, there will not be a weekly leaderboard reset. You will have a full 2 weeks to grind for items and LB standing.
• Expand your Level 86 Mythic Star Beast set with new weapons: Chakram, Chainsword, and Orb.
• The Enthralled Talisman bane item will expire this year. Both newly purchased and old bane items will be removed from your inventory after the event cooldown.
• While we don't have a dedicated Lunar New Year event this year, the Year of the Wood Dragon theme appears in some of the Lovecrafting rewards!

Note on Energy Drops: fight monsters at or above your character level to get the best Energy Essence drop rate. Fighting creatures below your level means a lower drop chance for Essence.

You can still purchase the event Bane Item, the Enthralled Talisman, when entering the zone this year. This item will prevent Hugthulu's tainted love barrels from damaging and slowing you.



Make your way through the map defeating enemies and the Merfkin mini-boss to collect L, O, V, and E candy letters. These can be crafted into event tokens, or a Love Letter to summon the second boss, Hugthulu Prime (more on him in a second).

Then, get ready for a fight! Hugthulu awaits.



Head back to Windmoore to chat with Remmi Amor for quests to gain extra tokens. She has 3 quests (2 daily) to complete.



Timeline

This two-week event will begin on Thursday, February 8th and run through Thursday, February 22nd, with a 3 day cooldown.

Event Scoring and Tier Rewards

Killing Hugthulu gives you Tier Points. Climb through Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Tiers for awesome rewards! At Gold Tier and above, use a Love Letter (crafted from Parchment Paper and L-O-V-E candy letters) to summon Hugthulu Prime at his altar! Killing Hughtulu Prime gives you significantly more Tier points.

Note: Hugthulu Prime is a Level 86 Boss only. While his level will scale, his stats will be equivalent to Lvl 86 no matter what level you are.

Bosses and Boss Drops

There are 2 bosses and 2 mini bosses to fight during the Lovecrafting Event. Here's where you can find them and what they drop!

Merfkin: This mini-boss spawns in the event map and has a chance to drop the following loot:

• Candy Hearts
• Merkfin Claw, Liver and Frill (used to craft the Golden Merkfin Badge)
• Gold Lovecraft Chest 2024 [Farmer's Elixir Only]

Golden Merfkin: This rare-spawn mini boss is similar to Merfkin, but has a chance to drop chests and special crafting ingredients when you wear the Farmer's Elixir:

• Candy Hearts
• Golden Merkfin's Blood Vial (used to craft the Golden Merkfin Badge)
• Heroic Pet 'Hearts' Essence & Heroic Pet 'Hugs' Essence (Used to craft Heroic Hearts & Hugs) [Farmer's Elixir Only]

Hugthulu: Make it to the end of the event map (after defeating the Merfkin) to face this boss. He has a chance to drop:

Hugthulu sometimes will drop a Lovecraft Chest that can contain:

The even rarer Gold Lovecraft Chest also drops from bosses and mini-bosses and has a chance to drop all of the above, along with:

[NEW] Mythic Lv 86 Star Beast Weapons (Chakram, Chainsword, Orb)



Rogue's "Star Beast Chakram" Proc: Attack your enemy to apply the "Galactic Grinder" proc (if not on cooldown)!

This swirling torrent of meteor shards does heavy damage over time and reduces your targets' armor and movement speed (by 75% in PvE, 50% in PvP) for five (5) seconds with an eight (8) second cooldown. Subsequent standard attacks do significantly more damage to afflicted targets!

Charged attacks apply an explosive "Cosmic Blast" proc that damages nearby targets and afflicts them with the "Galactic Grinder" DOT (if not on cooldown). "Cosmic Blast" adds a twelve (12) second cooldown.

Warrior's "Star Beast Chain Sword" Proc: Attack enemies to invoke the "Cosmic Shockwave" proc (if not on cooldown)!

This concussive energy wave does heavy damage over time and reduces your targets' armor and movement speed (by 75% in PvE, 50% in PvP) for five (5) seconds with an eight (8) second cooldown. Subsequent standard attacks do significantly more damage to afflicted targets!

Charged attacks summon the "Meteoric Rage" buff that gives you +100% Crit Chance, +50% Crit Damage, and +25% Haste in PvE or +50% Crit Chance, +25% Crit Damage, and 15% Haste if summoned in PvP for five (5) seconds if not on cooldown. "Meteoric Rage" adds a twelve (12) second cooldown.

Sorcerer's "Star Beast Orb" Proc: Attack enemies to apply the "Cosmic Thunder" proc (if not on cooldown)!

This searing energy attack does heavy damage over time and reduces your targets' armor and movement speed (by 75% in PvE, 50% in PvP) for five (5) seconds with an eight (8) second cooldown. Subsequent standard attacks do significantly more damage to afflicted targets!

Charged attacks summon a reflective "Meteor Shield" barrier that reflects 700% of incoming damage in PvE, 30% in PvP (diminishing after Level 86) for five (5) seconds if not on cooldown. "Meteor Shield" adds a twelve (12) second cooldown.

Set Bonus:
These contribute to the 6-piece Star Beast set which gives you the "Cosmic Killer" buff when attacking. This buff gives you stacking damage (200% in PvE, 60% in PvP) and damage reduction (60% in PvE, 30% in PvP) for three (3) seconds (if your weapon is not on cooldown).

- Candy Letters of all types ONLY drop from the new event zone.
- Gold Letters can be traded.
- Love Letter can ONLY BE USED by Gold tier or higher players, but can be crafted and sold/traded by anyone.

I like the event, everything balanced, but i really want more rewards for platinium tier. I suggest not to make all the events like this, with recipe's and crafting, make some of them with and

I wasn't expecting 1 billion hp bosses anytime soon, but with this insane damage mega buff from weapon and set is there any other option than buffing hp of bosses to oblivion making skills even more cosmetic while procs only way to damage bosses?
