This would be a bug. The same thing happened before when vanity shields were newly introduced and they fixed it, some probably slipped and stayed the same.

There are a few that will do this. I've seen people with a Sunblessed bow and a Hallow Shield too.

I mailed the devs about this a while back, they said they were aware of the issue and a fix is in the works

Not this way with all shields, however. My holoshields do not this. Only my community/hallow shield. Guess it is correlated to the vanity helm glitches.

Yeah I just equip vanity shield and a bow. Fyi not all bows can do this with vanity shield
