For elves... MM is better. Except FF has a hard time in dying.

Mega Mage for damage, FF for tanking.
Staff for fast damage, wand for shield survival and easier Mage vs Mage fighting.

I prefer wands.

i have mm staff set which is awesome for pvp-ing mages and str bears. maybe get a mm and enchanted set? its good for birds too
