Gee, lots of useful tips, thanks guys. I still haven't bought a single platinum. I've managed to reach level 51 on my pure int mage. I'm actually proud that I've reached this far without plat. I'm not in a hurry to level up, in fact, I'd like to slow down my xp gains because the prices of item sets at my level are no joke (currently trying to complete Shadow Glowstick set), and I want to be able to have enough profit from liquidation and cs sales to maintain good purchasing power in relation to my current level. At this point, I feel I could still enjoy the game without the plat, though I heard Nuri's will prove to be difficult for a squishy mage w/o pots, so I think once I hit 55, I'll buy the package to boost me to level 60 (or 66 once they increase the cap). The hardest part of my journey so far has been money. I found it hard to save when your average liquidation is 100/item and you're looking at prices that are easily surpassing the 100k, it's really starting to become a chore, though still tolerable. The 1 slot in the auction is not helping either, I have tons of pinks that I couldn't really make profit of them since it takes a while to sell something in cs. So I resort to "shouting" in townes which isn't really a big help unless you're selling an uber rare item. Anyway, going back on topic, given my added knowledge of the game, my platinum allocation sorta relaxed and became more situational: I'd still buy all the maps (for my 2nd character), the rest I'll just spend on elixirs on an "as and when" needed basis, I learned that you cannot really plot what to spend since patches come once in a while so you have to have a little spare platinum, like the halloween quest now, which I'll be missing since I refuse to spend just to rent a costume. In terms of vanity, it doesn't really hurt to look badass in the game, for me, it's worth to look good, however, I haven't found any vanity equips that really stimulates me (...in a non sexual way of course) including that ox-looking helm, it's just "meh", but I would spend 500 plat in a heartbeat if I see an angel-like wing vanity or an aura vanity like a supar saiyan LoL. What I'm basically saying is, I think plats should be on an as and when basis although as much as possible, go natural so you enjoy the game's natural difficulty. Well, when I reach level 55, maybe I'll post my insights again on spending plats. Cheers and see you in-game!
