I think a town dedicated to trading might be more effective than individual towns. Plus it would cut back on spamming while running quests along with a one stop for all your buying/trading needs.

Nice suggestion, thanks for the feedback.
I think this may slow down after the auction house is released. This has been suggested before, but IMO it would only lay down on half the spamming since a town full of sellers, will have no buyers, and I personally think a more accurate way of selling is using forums, and if it's really rare, make it more local by announcing it a little in town. Nice suggestion though
i agree with mystic. good idea, but all the spammers would gather in 1 place, and you wont even be able to read anything lmao let alone post ur own item for sale
Renumoth damage pot spamming, 91 dodge, sexy shiv bear
Tjornan super ultra pink carrying, rich pally Mokugoja Pretty lame twink really
Phoenix Guild. Rising From the Ashes
"Im here to kick butt and drink milk. and i just finished my milk...." - ME
How would you guys design this? Would we restrict spam? How would you decide what is spam? Would we restrict trade?
I think it is an interesting idea, but don't know how we would implement it...
We hope der auction haus will help with it too.
Is auction haus the next update?
We're watching PL:A settle in. It is definitely still on the map.
Ok cool Can you tell us what new weapons you added for AO2 or do we have to find out? Also is there new weapons for every map?
Is it possible to have like a trade board or notice, where sellers could post a simple note like buy/sell item price and the name of the notice poster. These notices stay live on the board, whilst the character is logged into the game.
Then make it so that if you want to buy a item for sale or fill a buy order, then you click a message player button that give advises you that someone wants to trade.
Also to stop spamming limit it to 5 items per character, players interested in buying things can just go check the board.
Kinda like those buy/sell noticeboards you see at Coles (in Australia that is. )
Would be easy to implement you could work it into the game by weaving in that it's the site of a future auction haus but until it is safe to build it, the noticeboard is a temporay trade measure.

I think their might be problem with the board idea.
What happens if the item on the board is not their?
And 5 items is not a lot.
Spamming is in every MMO I'v experienced, you just got to deal with it no matter how annoying.
Yea maybe 5 is too little there is nothing now to stop someone advertising an item for sale that they don't have unless your talking about it linking to a trade request, in which case just make it send a message.
I do quite like the idea of a trade zone, If we had seperate chat channels it wouldn't be such an issue, any chance they could be added, with a button added in to the macro overlay, to bring an option box of chat channels, which one to talk to, and which ones to filter out.
With a trade zone, spam limit should be pretty high, with maybe a 5+ second buffer. Would there be a way for a player to 'set up shop' turning themselves into a merchant, where people could browse & buy directly from their inventory. I'm not sure how you'd go about setting your item prices though.
Oh my gosshhh! I have a idea!
Paying ideas: Coins/ Items/ Pots
Traders Towne
A big system that allows you to type the item you want to buy or sell.
That item stays in their for as long as you like too. Or take it out whenever you want to.
You can vary the price of the items your buying or selling. ( The makers or leaders or community will decide on the varied prices of each items. ( Prices of each items gets updates once a week )
You can not talk in Traders Towne. Biggy XD ( Prevent Spammers )
Modification:
Select your color of the item.
Select the level of the item.
Select What type of weapon you'd like. ( Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence )
Type the name of the weapon. ( In Alphabetical Order ) ( Auto spell of the weapon, like if you couldn't spell: "Dreamer's Staff of Horus" but you knew what you wanted all you
have to do is type the closest letter or word to that weapon.
I love idea I just made!
Please add on! I don't think their would be a problem with this idea?!

Or a twist on your inventory idea is a shop tab purchased with plat that allows you to have items for sale. Viewable when people click in you. You flag items from your stash as in the shop and set a price.
Or just flag stuff in your stash as available with it's price and it somehow can be seen by others either through a noticeboard or the shop idea.
I actually thought of this idea that you mentioned about over a month ago! Its called....Craigslist for PL!
You could have a board up in towne and you could go there touch it and a pop up comes up and says
-Search item- (Search bar here)
-Sell item- You click this and it would go through a list....What item is it? How much do you want to sell it for?(There should be a min. And max. For this so people don't price there items 5 Mil.....Anyways that's pretty much how it would go...Any add ons or feedback?

Really Cascade, ok cool, it should be easy but I'm not a game developer nor familiar with the STS engine (BTW devs do you have a name you call the engine?)
That works even better, you could check a persons sale list anywhere, only problem is that's pretty much like a mobile aucion house, whereas the UI for a shopkeeper already exists, but who knows, it may not be as quick and easy to make as it sounds.
It's called the Spacetime Engine I believe.
I don't really understand it, what is this system? Is it like a notice board you go to, or a character you speak to, with a search screen?A big system that allows you to type the item you want to buy or sell.
When you are offline as well, or online only? That item stays in their for as long as you like too. Or take it out whenever you want to.
