Are bears any good in lvl 30 pvp agains mages and birds?

Debuff dex bears or 2H warbears are good at lv 30. just depends because voodoo mages dominate 30-35 pvp

for fighting mages: 6 rage 6 taunt 4 evade 3 cb 1 in slash 6 hs 3 beckon rest stomp (use a dodge ring)

for fighting birds: 6 rage 6 ib 6 hs 1 in each slash 4 cb 3 beckon 2 stomp

my older more successful build went a little like this:

93 dex rest in str.

shivering this, shivering that, shivering other hand, and a Sniper's Pengy cap lvl 27.
mecha bear face, Magician's fine Platinum Band lvl 20, and a holiday cap (yes i played better with a holiday cap)

6 rage, 6 hell scream, 6 beckon, 6 crushing blow, 3 stomp, 1 cripple, 1 iron blood.

it's a debuff-stun build that i found extremely fun, derived from one of Apollo's old builds (thanks for the help back then, bro ). Does very well against mages and dodge bears, decent against birds, but nuke bears may get the best of you

It is early, and I am kinda slow this morning, but explain to me again how debuffing a mage that can just heal and clear all debuffs is an effective strategy?

The massive damage (and dodge) reduction of crushing blow is not healable, and hellscream has to be timed correctly so the mage nearly does no damage after the first nuke.

Tried that, and all those things are absolutely healable. You would essentially have 3 seconds to debuff then get all your attacks in before they heal and go back to normal. That is why you see things like "fearless" and "clear headed" over a mage after they heal.

Uhm... just tested again and no, the -65 dmg and -30 dodge from crushing blow are not healable. It lasts for 5 seconds and regens in 4, so it can even stack for one sec.
The hit and armor debuff of hellscream is healable tho, that's why I mentioned timing.

"clearheaded" appears after healing from stuns,
"fearless" from nightmare/weakness? Not sure on those...
