A good tip from me to you is to not charge until you have build a small foundation (portfolio) for people to judge you on.
Believe it or not, I started charging after I had done about a dozen for free.
Once I noticed people were "digging" my work & asking for commissions, I realized a small fee needed to be placed to compensate the long hours I spend on this shop.
Just my advice. You do what you feel is best tough.
