There is no real reason to add a new set of Spirit gear right now - but we can look into it later on.

Mythic, Arcane stuff will happen in the future for sure though.

Elemental damage is done on basic attack and it's a portion of the overall damage. You'll see on the item details what percent % elemental damage you do per attack.
