so i have a level 14 twink that i enjoy playing a lot. id been debating on getting a respecc so i could lvl one skill in general, and get an extra m/s from int bonus. so i did. and, errr, i did get a bonus, but not as i imagined.

this picture is of me without no gear. 15 int, and no M/S bonus. Argh!

With Croc Helm on, so thats 1/ms from the helm, and a bonus. Maybe from the int?

Now i have 2 Crocs on, but my M/S stays at 2. No more Int Bonus?

so my question is, shouldnt i have 3 M/S? 2 Crocs and the Int bonus? I get the bonus with one Croc on, but it lacks to give it to me when i have 2 Crocs on.

thanks.

Yeah, there's some sort of weird rounding going on there, and I've seen similar stuff before. Regen is a continuum, and with 1 Int being equal to 0.02 M/s, at 15 Int, you have about 0.98 M/s. Why exactly, it would show 2 with the 1 croc item, and then 2 with another added is not clear, but I'm fairly sure it just has to do with the way the actual value is rounded in each case for display. Regardless of what the page says, with 15 Int and 2 croc items on, you will have about 2.98 M/s, and you should be able to tell the difference by taking one croc off, and watching how fast you regenerate mana (even though it says 2 M/s in both cases).

I think it has to do with the data type of the variable. I'm not a programmer, I only write what they tell me when I do tech writing, but I'm pretty sure that the data type affects the way it displays. Or possibly they are using C programmer tricks to pass data between the actual table and the display, since C has some weird rules about that, and the rounding might happen as the data is passed. It's like saying A=B=C and you are seeing C but the reality is A while the rounding might happen because of B.

A person better trained in C could probably make a better guess. Futumsh would know, of course.

So, i was in town, with my 2 crocs on...(which by the way, i tested, and my regen is higher with 2 crocs on, even though it shows 2 M/S) and i asked someone to use revive for the M/S bonus, and it didnt show up.

EDIT: nevermind it does.
