Oh young one, how you miss the intricacies of a complicated defense. There is more to Miami's defense than doubling up on the ball handler during a pick and roll. It has been a stable of their defense for years now. With the team speed and versatility they have, they use a similar defense to the "40 Minutes of Hell" defense the '94 Arkansas Razorbacks used during their National Championship run.


And last I checked, Green and Leonard are two potent 3-point shooters. Miami has at least 6 players who are more than proficient from behind the arch. Do not count out the Heat because of one game. Only Broadway Joe (Roll Tide) was capable of predicting outcomes with absolute certainty.

I know who Danny Green is and what he is capable of. As a Carolina fan (long story), I watched him all four years at UNC and knew he would contribute in the NBA.

The "rebounding" stat for the Heat is very misleading. Other factors go into this stat than just missed shots. As the number 1 defensive team in the NBA, Miami forces a lot of turnovers through bad passes and traveling (due to that trapping you think is flawed), steals, and blocked shots. They are also one of the best shooting percentage teams in the NBA, thus, cutting down on offensive rebound total. And since we are talking size, outside of Timmy and Splitter, what other players with height do they have? Miami has Haslem, Bosh, Anthony, Birdman, LBJ, and Lewis.

Pretty sure Miami was "smaller" than Boston, New York, Indiana, and OKC last year. How'd that work out? Smaller than Chicago qnd Indiana this year. How'd that work out?

Don't listen to everything you hear on SportsCenter. I mean, Alabama didn't stand a chance against ND in January did they? And for your info, you need to watch the ESPN 30 for 30 on the '94 Razorbacks "40 Minutes of Hell." According to the experts, they didn't stand a chance against Duke that year. You didn't read a word I said. That's ok, my 32 years of basketball experience and knowledge was all for nothing I suppose.

The 2005 and 2009 NATIONAL CHAMPION UNC Tar Heels led the nation in a lot of categories: Scoring, field goal percentage, free throws made vs free throw attempts by opponent, and turnovers. The reason for the high turnover rate? Not because Raymond Felton and Ty Lawson (both led the NCAA in assist to turnover ratio) couldn't hold on to the ball. Not because Tyler Hansbrough (National Player of the Year the year before his championship) was clumsy. It is because they aimed to have 15-20 more possessions per game than their opponents. With the speed they played at, they also turned the ball over at, what seemed, very high rates. In reality, they actually had the ball more.

Statistics are misleading. Period.
