If I buy platinum on my Kindle, will it be charged on my Amazon Gift Card or the credit card?

Whenever u buy a app or inapp purchase, the first source the companies go to is a gift card credits. If that's not there/or insufficient amount of money, then it charges your card.
What I would do just to be sure is to put the Amazon Gift Card on a separate Amazon account, then try to buy platinum from there.

I would think that it would do that but it didn't.
Still charged on my credit card last time.
