Hello many select the pet with more crit for sorc and not int like Colton my question is why they want to select the pet with critical?

I choose crit and I don't even have lightning. I'm a PvE Mage and with a 25%+ crit rate with ribbit, I pop his arcane and I literally crit my AoE attacks when farming. I watch them drop.

For most sorcerers, it's because they have lightning. 250% hits make killing go a lot faster.

Except... it doesn't. Check out the threads where it's actually been tested (the dmg vs dps thread is a must read). If I recall, 1% in crit worked out to be about 0.35% in additional damage. Raising your int (which raises your damage, bonus damage, etc) gives you more over the long run. It doesn't look at cool as seeing crit all the time, but it's better damage.

It all depends on your party and your objective. For example, if you are fighting a hard boss and you have a really good tank who can keep aggro, then ribbit is a great pet as you can score critical lightning hits on the boss. But if you don't have a good tank, maybe a pet like clyde or slag with good stun will be better as it would give you time to get away from the boss and keep him occupied.
