Hello,
My name is OverkillED and I'll be giving you an analysis of how good the forgotten bow really is in comparison to SSC items and dexterity platinum packs in the 25-27 bracket as well as my point of view. (strictly talking mages). Let me get one thing out of the way! This isn't a complaint or "nerf forg pls" thread! It is simply my point of view and analysis of the forgotten bow items against the SSC and platinum talon pack items. (Sorry couldn't change the link title, but changed the thread title.) This is my second actual guide/informative page, so please give positive feedback, and constructive criticism is appreciated.

I. What is SSC? What is a forgotten bow?
To start basic, SSC stands for the Sandstone Caves, which is a campaign that comes after Balefort Castle (same level requirement as Fathom Crypt). The items dropped there are like weapons made from precious minerals and materials from the earth. Example: Onyx, Crystalline, and Earthquake gear. Well, what is a forgotten bow? A forgotten bow is a dexterity item that comes in many levels and was part of the Forgotten Event in the Fall of 2012. It is characterized by being a golden colored bow with different colored gemstones lining it. The gemstones also show the quality of the item. (Uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary). Forgotten bows are now discontinued. The picture on the top is a forgotten bow (legendary quality - pink gems) and the picture on the bottomis a crystalline wand; the shield is a Gratitude Shield vanity, not a crystalline bracer.

II. SSC Wand/Bracer vs. Forg Bow
Ok so let's look at the pros and cons of Earthquake Wand/Bracer and the Forgotten Bow!
Forgotten Bow
Pros:
Blind proc (this is a big one)
Ultimately high damage
More DPS
More crit
Cons:
Less range than an xbow
Less mana/health regen
2H - can't wear a shield with it, resulting in less of a few certain stats
Less armor
SSC Wand/Bracer
Pros:
More mana/health regen
More hit, and other general stats
More armor/defense
Moderate damage
Looks cool ;)
Cons:
A lot less damage and nuking in comparison to the forgotten bow
No blind proc
Moderate damage
Despite the general defensive stats, you still get nuked quite easily
Less range than an xbow
We can conclude that wands are defensive, and forgotten bows are highly offensive. The thing that makes the forgotten bow much more stronger than the wand is the blind proc! It lowers 15% hit on proc and is stackable, so you end up missing quite a lot of crucial skills that could make or break a fight. Why forgotten bows are called luck-based is because whoever hits the blind proc (which is random) first, generally wins. Despite the defense on a wand, when put up against a forgotten bow nukist, the wand doesn't stand too much of a chance. Yes you could say: "Well if you have actual skill you can kite and blah blah," but the thing is. you'd have to use fire then mana shield quickly, or else you'd die in a matter of a second or two, chances being that the forgotten user hits drain and fire. If the forgotten user is relatively skilled and can counter kiting, then they will deplete your mana before you do to theirs, forcing a loss upon you. Agreeably, level 50+ items start having better stats and can do better than the SSC items when put up against the forgotten bow.
III. Platinum Pack Talon/Wing vs. Forg Bow
SORRY GUYS IM MOVING TO THE US ON 5 JULY AND CAN'T UPDATE TILL THEN!
