View Full Version : New type of SCHEME (SCAM) beware

There's this new type of Scheme which involves higher leveled player which mid-lvl players should be aware of. I myself have been victimized by this. I don't want others to be a victim like me so i'll be posting this here. Here's what happened.

- A high lvl'd player (usually lvl 29 or above) targets a mid level player (20++) with distinctively decent gear. Esp. with obviously legendary suits.
- He'll try to ask you for a trade with your suit to his other items
- Hell show you items that you cannot still wear due to level restrictions. obviously, these items are have better stats than what you are wearing because they are made for higher lvl'd players
- they'll put in about 2 or more of those items + some warchests to lure you in.
- once you agreed to trade and once confirmed, they'll be gone faster than a lightning bolt.
- upon checking the auction house/CS, you'll find out the the "legendary" items given to you are all crap and what you've given him is worth more than those high lvl items combined.
- as for my case, my winter wonderland suit lvl 21 was traded for a bunch of lvl 29 and 31 items which are really worth not more than 5k in total. On a good day, a decent winter wonderland suit 21 could be sold at 35k or more.
- we all know that grinding and farming at lower levels won't be enough to earn you your first million. not until you can do elites and nordr
- last tip, always check the action house for prices. don't be blinded by the level and the stats given to you.

Thanks!

Again, there are no scams. Just people who fall for temptation.

you can't blame people who falls for the trick. Everybody want to be better geared. Esp if they don't really have the capability to be one. It's just sad that people of higher stature (or level) who already have tons of in-game money take advantage of newbies.

this isnt your typical "ill give you mythic code/ill multiply your mythic" temptation.

i dont blame people for falling for this like i usually do with the other types of scams that are built on players greed.

always check auction before trade and dont be rushed, remember the seller wants to sell just like you want to buy.

This isn't a scam. It's you not doing your research before you accept a trade. If ur not sure if it's a good trade or not just go check auction real fast.

If over pricing items to players who do not know their exact value at that exact time because you know more about the market is a scam then they should just shut down the game.

I never trade with anyone anymore... Too many unscrupulous players out there.

If your still 21 and in need of some armour let me know your ig name. I'll help you out a bit as much as I can.

I think the ones who don't see this act as something bad or those who come in defense of those who do it might be the one responsible in doing it themselves. Just saying.

This is not a scam kid. Just a smart business decision on the other guys side

I agree, this is more like manipulation than a scam. But come on, quit bashing this guy for trying to spread a word of warning. We all have different morals and values of what's ethically sound and what's dirty business. In his case, he feels he was hoodwinked.

Exactly my point. Maybe others does not want this kind of "manipulation" to be exposed so they could continue doing it. I might be wrong though... but still... oh well... business is indeed business.

Make sure to check the prices before trading, we all have such experiences at a point in game. Hopefully, you'll act smarter next time :) We learn from our mistakes!

To players who can not view the high level items: Uncheck the 'usable only' box on top right corner near search box.
