Random "Friend" Requests...

Just some rhetorical questions, observations, (ranting?), regarding this...

Why do people randomly send friend reqs in town? Do they actually expect them to be accepted? Would the people who send this kind of req accept one themselves??? - On a related note: has anyone in the history of pl accepted one of these random town reqs (other than accidentally)? My favorite kind of town req is when whoever sends it immediately disappears or runs away lol. I mean, what is the point of sending a friend req to a complete stranger and then disappearing?! Hm...

In-level reqs are interesting too; I guess the protocol is to figure out who's hosting and immediately send your req - of course!!! - assuming the host would - of course!! - even want you back for another level... And apparently it is acceptable to pause to send a friend req while the host is busy crushing the level boss or in the midst of killing a giant pack of monsters... Mystifying... On a related note; does anyone else HATE in-level merching too?

Are people so keyed up on thinking of uses for the object of their random friend req they forget that said object does not exist solely to power level them or give them stuff...??? And, considering this, apparently sticking around to say "hi" or saying something/anything is too much effort??...

I know; many people (ie ppl worth friending) do not engage in this type of activity; but a frightningly high number do... at least in my experience...

Anyway, I'm done raving. Back to a slow night of work for me.....zzzzzzzzzz

I'm collecting random friend reqs until I have 1337 friend reqs (I currently have around 1200). U get used to them.

I hate being in townes as I have quite unique vanities + my IGN is Ninja. Whenever I join Balefort there comes around 5 pms which are "Where can I get that armor/hat/shield/weapon plz???", "Wow cool name plz be my friend" or "Plz sell name 10m plz"

I sometimes say during a run "no random Friend Requests please". It's strange for sure.

Especially in town, when you sit for 30 seconds and 3-4 FRs come in for no reason.

The weirdest ones are the people who pop into a dungeon run, send Friend Requests to everyone and then leave the dungeon. Huh? What's the point? I get the feeling that, if you accept, they will be constantly asking you to join them in their games so you can help them clear levels.

I have like 700 pending friend requests...I only accept requests from people I know, play a lot with, guild mates, or are very active.

Taking off your gear or wearing some noob gear helps to reduce the amount of random fr req

Some of my best friends came from random friend requests. If you can make me laugh, you are usually in with a chance. I don't mind about what level you are!

Hm, that's interesting. Why is this trivial aspect of the game bothering you? This happens literally on every game and social networking website. Random friend requests are bound to happen. Just ignore it, no harm done. If it helps, go to notifications and uncheck friend reqs.

Personally, I accept the friend reqs of ones who: capped(red dragon slayer), previously ran a couple of maps with me, need some help clearing a map/quest(delete them after if they are repeatedly asking for help), or if I simply just like your in-game name.

Lol guys I remember when i sent those noob requests to other endgamers. .....Kinda funny actually. Sometimes they respond with such profane language one cannot even fathom.
Now that i capped it is quite scaring how irking it is. I feel ur annoyance. The most friend request I had pending at once was 13 i think. Other than that i reject instantly when they send. Weirdly enough, out of all the people I know in endgame I apparently have the least amount of friends..... LOL!
