Need Help With My Mage!(Paly,Dex,or Int)

I'm lvl 18 right now, and I know that Int mages only have one advantage: heal
So I want to either make a Paly or Dex mage.

Dex mages use bows right?
and Paly uses swords and spears.

Can anyone help me figure out what to do

I'm not gonna pvp too much, maybe once or twice a day, just for fun

Should i stick with enchantress, or should i go with a dex bird? or a dagger bird? Personally i like ranged more. But i saw a dagger bird the other day with 300 something DPS. Should i care about damage or DPS?

EDIT2: because i dont like close range, i think i should make a new character, dex bird. Can some1 help me with that?

Regular enchantress is still a good option until about level 35 or 40 where the hybrids become much more powerful. As for whether to go Dex or Str, I personally find Dex mage to be the most fun, but Paladin is nice too simply because you will have higher survivability. Dex birds are totally overpowered, so if it sounds interesting to you, it's not a bad option. Dagger birds are fine, but dagger bears are better IMO. As for damage or DPS, at low levels where mobs have little armor DPS is a good stat. At higher levels, it becomes misleading because the DPS equation does not account for target armor, and in general high damage, low speed weapons are more effective than high speed, low damage (high DPS) weapons.

a dex mage has very little less than an int mage and has higher armor to boot.
pally is good, but only after some lv40's thoth armor for decent m/s...

I think i might make a archer then
because the 1st character i made was an archer but i switched because mage had a lot more dam at low lvls

For archer skills, do i follow the guide on the PL wikipedia page?

and wat do i add for the attribute points? All on dex?
