whats the advantage using crossbows/bows, when u get more dps and stats using talon and shield?

DPS is not everything. At higher levels, when mobs have more armor, the DPS stat becomes misleading since it does not account for target armor. In general high damage, low speed weapons are more effective than low damage, high speed (high DPS) weapons in higher level campaigns and PvP. Also talons have shorter range than bows and crossbows, and there seems to be some sort of a range factor in talon damage (yet to be fully explained) where your damage decreases as you move away from the target.

Anyway I still think talon is an excellent option, at least at level 30, 35, and 45 (maybe below 30 too but low level talons didn't exist when I leveled my Dex bird and Dex mage so I can't say), though they seen slightly underpowered in AO3, but the extra armor really helps there so we'll see. I have yet to level my Dex characters from 45 to 50...
