Trick? Why do people say that they buy iTunes cards for plat? Is there some discount or something?

No it's just a faster process then putting all your credit card information onto your device
people who dont use credit card use Itunes GC to buy plat.

Just like those using Android use Google Play cards. Just put the money on your account with a code and no need for credit cards. Also think Microsoft points for Xbox.

People use itunes card because plat is cheaper rate in comparison to credit card.
This happens because there is no tax in itunes vouchers

Actually, it's the other way around I believe as I bought a $10 ITunes card yesterday bringing my total up to $10.53 yet it still says insufficient credits remaining.
