Hello everyone,

My name is Glitch, I am a veteran and hardcore gamer who understands many aspects to this wonderful game, such as:

- Leveling up.
- Money Making.
- Socialism.
- And of course, trust.

If we were to go through all of STS support team email issues, I would assume about 1/6 are about trust issues, such as "friende scammd borrwd goolde ahnd itams". ( no offence intended to non-english speakers. )

Well, here's a simple solution to all of these problems:

The Loaning Items System/Feature!

How it will work:
When entering the trade screen, on the bottom left-hand corner there will be a button entitled "Loan".
When pressing this button the chest section of your inventory and your gold will disappear.
You can then enter any item you would like in and select one of these options:
-Loan for 1 hour
-Loan for 6 hours
-Loan for 24 hours
-Loan until Logout.

Here's an example of how it would play out:
1) Player A trades Player B.
2) Player A presses the "Loan" button.
3) Player A enter in his mythic helmet.
4) Player A selects the "Loan until Log-Out" option.
5) Both players confirm the trade.
6) Player B now has a mythic helm, and when Player A logs outs, the mythic helm will return back to him.

Also, whenever Player B enters the trade screen or the cs, all buttons that tie with the helm being lost ( listing in auction, liquidating, or trading it. ) will be disabled.

Why this is good for Devs:

To loan out more items you must pay platinum just like auction slots.

Why this is good for players:

We all know that one friend that we want to help out in gear but just can't bring ourselves to trust him enough.

Well, I guess that's all for now folks! Many thanks in advance for reading! :D

I'd love to have this feature added in game.

I think your idea is good. But I also think that it may be far too advanced to implement into such a small game. Another person on the forums suggested there be an NPC merchant who rents mythics/arcanes for a price (plat and/or gold). This idea would be a lot less demanding for STS logistically, and the code involved is as simple as making the NPC's items "No rent". This is a code function dating back to EverQuest, meaning the item is not trade-able, sells for 0 gold when you liquidate it (in case you want to get rid of it for some reason), and simply disappears from your inventory after X amount of hours (like an elixer). Other modern games use this function as well.

Also, I hate to sound like the jerk here, and I certainly don't want to throw this thread off onto a tangent. But, I guess once you've been gaming for such a long time you start to lose all sympathy for the people being hoodwinked via loaning items/currency. The Terms of Agreement for all of STS's games are crystal clear, as are the official forum posts the Devs have made regarding the issue over the past few years. Those who fail to read the ToS even once have failed themselves and shouldn't play the ignorance card. STS is not liable for trust issues between players, nor should they be. Not everyone is raised the same in this world, however, my parents always taught me never trust a complete stranger with anything you hold dear. And I won't use the phrase "common sense", because if it was truly common then we'd all have it. But in cases like this, it boils down to laziness (not reading the ToS that STS has laid out) and a bit of foolishness (trusting someone you only know via pixels over the internet). You live and learn through life experiences. Lending someone a mythic item or millions of gold and not getting back is just one of those moments for some people. Unless a third-party app or hack is involved, trust issues will be kept at the lowest level: among the players involved.

Anyway, like I said your idea is good. You can't stop evil in this world, but you can least implement deterrents for these types of problems - like the one you suggested.

That is a really good idea. Would solve all scamming dilemas

This sounds like a great idea, but also sounds like a programming nightmare for the developers. But then again, they would obviously have many less support issues if they had such a system, so maybe it would be worth their time to figure this out.

I think the easiest way STS could implement something similar to that (and make lots of plats/gold) is if they just add all mythics/arcane items to the shop with expiration like the elixirs.. So you can get one for 30mins/1hour etc.. Maybe in the future they will do that..

The solution ironically will just create more problems. +1 and -1 so.... :( 0

Wow! pretty impressive idea actually. Loaning on AL would be pretty good xD

Lots of bug and really hard to come up

this was mentioned like half a year ago.

the same system Runescape implemented years ago

Would be great, but will probably never come true...

Not necessarily. STS could actually implement ideas which were thought of years ago. This is similar to what GunZ: The Duel did.

Lots of threads about about this already. Bottom line as it was stated would be far too complex and really if you can't stand to lose it you shouldn't be giving it way

So after reading your guy's feedback it seems that it mainly says "This is too hard and too time-consuming for STS".
So basically what you are saying it takes more time to create this loan system then going through thousands and thousands of emails that include these "loan" scams. This is a simple solution which many games have ( Runescape ). If this takes away more then 1/6 of their spam emails why not implement it? Ehh....just some food for thought. ( Credits to Apollo for that :D )
Anyways, many thanks for reading! :D

It's really not a simple solution. Runescape isn't comparable to AL (at this time), because Runescape, for the most part, is a PC-utilized MMORPG whereas AL is played primarily on mobile devices or via a web browser. Eventhough Runescape is coming to mobile devices soon, I'm pretty sure their staff and developers far exceed STS by quite a bit, due to the fact they've been around since 2001 (was a re-write of Devious MUD). It costs a lot less to trudge through the emails than to pay devs to produce, test, and maintain the code necessary for such a system. From my experience, most of customer service replies are template emails anyway.

I think it's a great idea but like others said, won't happen. I've learned two things playing these games:

1) I've learned to say no

2) I've learned to not really care too much. I loan things out, hope they get back to me but if they don't, I know I'm ultimately to blame. If your friend can't take no for an answer maybe he's not a great friend

Actually, this suggestion was intended for others. Heck, I barely have friends xD.

Exactly the same applies to me :D
