So recently I switched to a Rouge archer, I really love PvE and I can't really do much when fighting with some freinds, my skills are the 3 bow skillshots and combat medic, I wanted to know the best class/setup for a PvE account, I know it depends on preference/what you want to do, but I'd you could list some I would really appreciate it

When you play rogue, you may feel that you're not useful for team. Me too. That's because rogue damage were focused on 1 target only.

Use Aim Shot, Noxious Bolt, Shadow Veil and health pack. Maybe change health pack to trap on elite. You can support warriors and mages with shadow veils. You don't need all 3 bow skill because the cooldown of AS, and nox is short enough for you to spam both. Shadow storm shot also a useless move since nox is buffed.

On big crowd, just TAP AS for stacking crit and CHARGE nox for poison AOE...just rinse and repeat that. Use your other skill along the way but never miss to spam both AS and nox.

Hi Triggy!

I’ll start by saying that bow rogues are awesome, they can really dish out the damage! For PVE fighting though, personally I prefer daggers. That’s not to say you can’t PVE with bows however.

I would recommend first and foremost that you lose one of those archer skills… The Storm Shot one… it’s just not an effective enough skill to be worth the skill points.

Second recommendation – get rid of Heal Packs. In PVE, you can just use POTS.

So… now you should have Aimed Shot (MAX)
And.. Noxious Bolt (Max or at least 4/5)

So now you’ve got choices to make… bows are really single target killing machine rogues and you chew threw mana like crazy because of the low cooldown on the bow skills… So, I would recommend going with Shadow Veil and either razor shield or shadow piercer. The Razor Shield helps you avoid being hit by giving you that dodge buff and if you’re feeling brave you can use if offensively (like I do) and just wade into a crowd of mobs.

When I use the bow (typically at a boss) I slap down shadow veil and stand in it to fire or I slap it down on top of the boss if he’s pretty stationary or if the tank can keep him still… otherwise its buffing / de-buffing effects are wasted.

Since I don’t Bow during Mob fights, I use daggers – strategy for doing so isn’t something I would provide guidance for. Zu – can you chime in here and provide some feedback for Triggy?

I also want to get into PvP more, whenever I 1v1 someone I can easily drop them but if someone engages me first then I have trouble

Jack of All Trades...

Master of none.

Remember that - if you want PVP - go for a full PVP spec.

PVE - go for a full PVE spec.

I've found that hybrid builds are simply innefective in trying to be really good at either. although they do work better in PVE.

In your opinion whys the best PvP setup?

Class, skills, ect...

I have the thunderhead bow and I found a warrior and started attacking him I was procing my crit and he kept healing, then he said "you wanna die?" and dropped me in 2 seconds, he was level 11 and I was level 12, I guess I would prefer a PvP spec

To be honest i think you need to find what spec fits your play style best.

Personally i prefer bow all the time, no switching around.

Crowd control the mobs with traps while you circel then from distance.

In elite i can't live without trap and nox.

IMO best spec (At least for me) is 100% dex

Skills:

Nox 2/5 + fragmentation for more dam.
AS 5/5
Trap 5/5
SV 4/5 - combusting decay

Passives:

agi 5/5
dam 5/5
crit 4/5

I respec quite often, but this spec gives me maximum singletarget dam.

Well this is what i find the best spec :)

Bow build---used in elites without much grouping. But it works well everywhere

Aimed--5/5
Nox--4/5 no radius upgrade
Pierce--1/5
Veil--4/5 no explosion
Dex 5/5
Int 5/5
Str or damage 5/5

Combo is aim, Nox, bow attack, pierce. Pierce has 1.5s CD after use, in which you can't use skills or weapon attacks. So when youf shadow veil becomes available, you need to skip pierce and go aim, Nox, bow attack, shadow veil (charge). This way your aim stays stacked and you maximize single target damage. Don't charge anything except veil.

Daggers build---a bit better on grouping maps like southern seas or oltgar.
Aim 5/5
Nox 4/5 no radius upgrade
Trap 4/5 no explode
Veil 4/5 no explode
Dex 5/5
Int 5/5 rest in str or damage

Tap everything except veils. Charge em. Remember to squeeze in a dagger attack in between your aimed and nox. And when nox is done don't just wait for aimed...the whole point of daggers is to get ad much damage from hour weapon attack as possible.
