Selection Process:
The Spacetime Development Team will choose what they feel are the best overall submissions. This will be based on creativity, the screenshot image quality, the description of why you think the items you are showing would make the best Rockin' Retro Gear.

Prizes for entry - per category:

1st Place: 500 Platinum

2nd Place: 300 Platinum

3rd Place: 100 Platinum

4th through 10th place: 50 Platinum

From the winning entries, the Development Team will create new versions of the gear, along with new vanities (for both the store and to drop in game).

Submission Agreement

This is the agreement of SpaceTime Studios LLC, a Texas limited liability company located on the Internet at Spacetimestudios.com ("SPACETIME"), and you ("Submitter").

This Submission Agreement (the “Agreement”) is made and entered into as of the date of acceptance, as provided below, by Submitter.

The Submitter desires to furnish SPACETIME with one or more sets of source designs for Content (the "Content") for review and consideration for publication by SPACETIME, on, in, or in connection with SPACETIME’s online game now known as “Pocket Legends.”

It is a condition to SPACETIME's acceptance, consideration, and possible publication of the Content that Submitter agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. Submitter acknowledges that SPACETIME is engaged in extensive research and development in many areas, including without limitation ongoing development of Pocket Legends and other games and communities, and other content for the consumer marketplace. Submitter further acknowledges that in the course of its business SPACETIME receives from others, including other submitters, its own employees and employees of its affiliates, numerous submissions of concepts, ideas, and designs for Content, and that SPACETIME may have developed or may in the future develop materials, or may have received or may in the future receive submissions of materials, similar or identical to those presented to SPACETIME by Submitter. Submitter understands that Submitter will not be entitled to any recognition or other consideration for any submitted materials nor will Submitter be entitled to recognition or consideration because of the use by SPACETIME or any of its affiliates of any such similar or identical material.

2. In the event that SPACETIME determines, in its sole discretion, that Content provided by Submitter may be added to, integrated into, or otherwise included in Pocket Legends and for related purposes, then Submitter will be deemed to have granted SPACETIME an irrevocable, exclusive, worldwide, royalty free, fully paid, right and license in and to the Content for purposes of use of Content in Pocket Legends, other products or services or SPACETIME, and for institutional purposes for and for the benefit of SPACETIME. The license includes all rights under copyright, and the full right to modify, edit, revise, or otherwise alter the Content. Submitter hereby waives all moral rights he or she may have in and to the Content. The license granted hereunder includes, without limitation, the right for SPACETIME to make derivative works based on or incorporating Submitter’s Content.

3. When and if SPACETIME utilizes Content, it will endeavor to provide recognition of Submitter on it Pocket Legends Internet Site; provided that failure to do so will not be a breach of this Agreement. Consideration of the Content by SPACETIME, and the recognition set forth in this Section, is the sum total of consideration to be provided to Submitter in connection with rights granted herein. SPACETIME will be under no further obligation to enter into a relationship with Submitter; however nothing in this Agreement shall preclude the parties from entering into future negotiations with respect to Content or further services from Submitter. SPACETIME shall have no obligation to return any Content to Submitter.

4. Submitter represents and warrants that (i) all Content is an original work of authorship created by Submitter; ; (ii) Submitter has the exclusive, unconditional right and authority to submit and/or convey to SPACETIME the Content and the rights granted herein, (iii) no use of Content as provided herein by SPACETIME or its designee(s) will infringe upon or violate the rights of any third party; (iv) Submitter has the right and authority to enter into this Agreement with SPACETIME and (v) no outstanding agreements exist, whether written or implied, which are inconsistent with any of the provisions of this Agreement.

5. This Agreement shall be governed by and conEngineerued in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas without giving effect to the conflicts of law principles thereof. Any action arising out of this Agreement will be brought only in the State of Federal courts located in Austin, Texas, and Submitter expressly consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of the foregoing courts. In addition to any recovery, the prevailing party in any action will be entitled to an award of its reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs in connection with any action.

6. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding of the parties. No waiver or modification of any of the terms of this Agreement shall be valid unless in writing and signed by each of the parties hereto.

7. In the event that any provision of this Agreement shall be declared invalid or unenforceable, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect the validity or unenforceability of the other provisions of this Agreement, it being hereby agreed that such provisions are severable and that this Agreement shall be conEngineerued in all respects as if such invalid or unenforceable provisions were omitted.

8. It is a material provision of this Agreement that Submitter represents to SPACETIME that he or she is over the age of 18 and fully authorized and capable of entering into this Agreement and being legally bound thereby. But for Submitter making this foregoing representation to SPACETIME, SPACETIME would not enter into the Agreement with Submitter.

ACCEPTED AND AGREED UPON BY SPACETIME.

BY POSTING IN THE THREAD BELOW, SUBMITTER AGREES TO BE FULLY BOUND BY THE FOREGOING TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

Nice contest :) For me, the only item that is a problem are black sets, because i wanna become True Legend but i cant find anyone selling it, so idk what to do about it
So i took a screenshot of a friend named Heideebear because i dont own black dragon items...also they look really cool...
also i am not 100% sure of their names but i hope its enough if i say black dragon sets

and as you also wanted to know a weapon, i decided to chose my Elite sea blaster because it has the best look...many people dont like the bombs it shoots but in my opinion this weapon is amazing :)

Why is it my choice? Players from all over Alterra loved the times of the Sewers because the gear was balanced and all around cool looking. I see players wearing the 55 set even when the level difference is HUGE! Another contributing factor is the fact that the level 55 sets were not exclusives, meaning that players won't get mad to see them come back. ELITE sets and/or vanities would create anger to those who got them a long time ago unlike the sets which are still available, just very outdated.

I'm not very clear on if we were supposed to choose a set from mixing and matching items, but I'd still be happy with the return of gemstone sets.

Description: For the helmet I believe this is one of the coolest looking helmet in game. Not many knows about this because of poor stats, would be awesome to see this come back alive and be useful. The Weapon is perfectly fitted with this set, it gives ice flakes effects and has a green ice finish to the staff. The armor, this armor has a "icy vapor" that surrounds it. It's a cool look and that effect makes it awesome. All in all, all these items range from 30-35 and would love to see these made new!

The helmet has the potential to be a classy 50's retro top hat with some funky re-coloring! I really think this hat is unique in its design in how's it's more realistic.
This snazzy armor would really be a great edition to the vanity store, any which way you change it. Make the tie purple and it will go well with the theme. ;D
The mace has some really nice detail on the handle and the spokes. With a bit of developer flair it could be a really desired endgame weapon!

Description: i got really into this game during the 50 cap and i honestly think that this is one of the best looking sets made in the game along with rift, void, and cosmos, i think its a shame that since shadow caves came out and made these inferior in stats, now not many people use and their value is extremely low:(, it always looked the best with that energy powered armor look, also that jacob helm has that energy effect as well It'd be great if these were brought back into the game with enhanced stats, maybe a color variant? And possibly a vanity alternative? Also when mega blasters had AoE, they were the coolest item EVER, those RINGS OF DEATH BWA HA HA HA! I will always forever love this set as it reminds me of when i started <3 Keep dat pew pew going

My reason for these being the best Retro Items:
Swamps was an extremely unique period of PL, one which is often overlooked because of the campaigns increased difficulty compared to previous levels, and the "fun factor" that doesn't quite match Alien Oasis. However, Swamps gear has the feel to it that made me love Pocket Legends in the first place: humorous, but still cool.
While, yes Torch was just a gimmick weapon, I believe it can be made into a real weapon by making it a talon, pike, or wand! You can throw torches for the talon, shoot fire out of it for a wand, and poke (yay, poke!) people with it as a pike (of course, the item would have to be a little bit longer to be a pike! :P); this was an obvious choice for me, because it fits into the whole fire theme that has been running in the current items. The Toad crown is one of my favorite items in the game, and by far the most humorous; though it doesn't really match up to the theme in BSM, I feel like making the toad a salamander could easily make it fit right in! I really enjoy the way Voodoo armor shows up on birds/bears. The designs always kind of reminded me of the fiery designs on earlier gear, but with a darker color scheme (which is nice). :)

Because the shooting star leather rocks on every class that wears it Its the best armour out there in Pocket Legends. It was one of the very first items I saw in Pocket Legends that i really wanted!

Next, there's nothing else that looks like the void helm out there in Alterra, plus it helps you breath on alien planets. ;-)

Finally the custom bow twinkles subtly and compliments the whole attire ;-) Looking fresh! Looking goooood!

Description : First of, the helm is the weirdest helm in PL but also I think it's one of the most fine helm although it is disvalued because of it's small stats. It perfectly blends right in with the Alchemist's heavy cloth armor which is perfectly match as they say. But most Importantly, my favorite weapon is the torch. It does'nt have any stat at all but I think it would be awesome if I see it come back and alive with stats and etc. I also like the shield, (swamp juice of ancestry) because besides that it's wierd as the helm, I think it is also really cool and would love to see it become better. It's a fine creation and I bet there's a whole lot more items that needs to come back.

The OL helmet for me brings back some great memories. I had the most fun in PL when I was leveling up in AO. I think it's so cool that it surrounds the entire head and you can still see your character's face. The Cyber quests were another great part of PL for me. I enjoyed the challenge of the quests and how much fun it was to work together with other players on them. It's still really cool how your hands light up when you wear the armor. I wear this armor a lot with my Frosty Nog-Phoenix Bow outfit. As for the Black Ice X-bow, that was another great PL moment for me. It was so rewarding to finally finish the black ice quests and receive these cool weapons. I know that they already made the blue ice, green ice, and black ice versions, but I think that a red ice X-bow would still be pretty cool :). Even if it wasn't red and was a different color, I still think that having an ice item in Blacksmoke would be great!

The top hat is super classy; really, the entire Prestidigitator set is vanity-worthy.
The Mojo Wand is honestly one of my favorite items in the game...I just think it looks really cool with the constant stream of black stars. :)
Cyber Armor reminds me of all the time I spent working through those quests, and the general awesomeness that is the Alien Oasis campaign.
And finally, I think the juice would make for a great vanity...there are so many cool/funny items from the Swamps that I would love to see made into vanities, but this one is probably my favorite.

I always liked this set because it was my first "sparkling" set and it was a fun quest to complete. I think there should be more challenging quest sets. When I say challenging I don't mean long like the cyber quest but more difficult bosses perhaps.

Description as to why: Well, I'll go item by item. I chose the crown (cowl) because it reminds me of sewers. I've always loved the look and wondered why bears and birds (the normally male characters) get manly crowns (vanity), but the mages (typically female) don't get anything pretty. I would love to see this in different shades and gem styles (bronze, gold, silver, etc. / sapphire, emerald, ruby, diamond, etc.). Next is the robes. For being a unisex item, I really like the look of the armor build/decoration; but I've always kinda thought that it lacked color. That's why I'd like to see colored variations (or whatever you guys are thinking) of the armor itself. It brings me back to Sand Cave days when the drop rates fluctuated everyday and you could farm your heart out with your friends and their twinks. :) Last, but most definitely not least: the staff. It appears the staff has a ice staff stock, but displays a beautiful floating gem. I know that this is a limited edition item from the release of the Avengers premier movie, but I've always kinda wanted to see a red edition or a black edition. The staff itself is breathtaking and I always get asked what it is when I wear it; too bad there are so few. In all, I think these retro items would be awesome to see popular again in the game. They are all very dear to me and are truly awesome items!

The Conqueror's Battle Sword has a color seen in very few weapons in PL. Its coloration and design are what made me want to have this weapon remade and reintroduced.
The Dark Avenger Cap has one of the best designs for helmets in the game and is quite different from the other helms around it.
The Rainbow Robes are not often seen despite being one of the more interesting armors, and I wouldn't mind seeing it more often. :p

Reasoning: Mynas Helmet of Isis- I thought this helm was cool, as it's an animal on top of your head! It sort of seems like, as a bear, you scalped someone and are wearing it as a "prize." It just seems an awesome helmet to be a vanity. Orlok's Chiroptera Plate- I chose this simply because of the awesome pattern. Given a different color, and a glow, it would be totally sick. Gurgox Hammer- Everyone loves the Gurgox Hammer. It's an amazing weapon, if it was available as 1H it'd be SICK but I'd be content with 2H;) The "myth" of the 1H Gurgox Hammer is something everyone likes talking about, (I think anyways >.>) and it'd bring back memories and be super fun!

Let's be honest guys... Cyber is by far THE BEST lookin' armor set(s) in the game. Not only is it prestigious and brag-worthy, it also "shines bright like a diamond" -Rihanna voice- and looks beast. Who wouldn't want powerful alien-tech / ancient gear? It would be awesome to see them either be recolored, scaled to higher levels, have new quests to go along with them (moar grinding) etc. The cyber quests have got to be one of the hardest quests out there, but the reward is definitely worth it. Anyways... An Alien Oasis Part IV would be beast :D!

Description: What is more cool then going all silver!? Silver and Gold are the most exclusive metals in real life, so as a reference, wouldn't anybody want to be dressed up like somebody who looks brutal? This, IMO, would be intimidating versus anybody in PvP/PvE. Think about it: a hammer crackling with electricity capable of stunning it's opponents due to the intensity of the current! Or strengthened silver with armor so powerful that it does not dent easily? Surely this has to be anybody's dream armor! This gear is retro, yes, but it is insanely retro as not many have it! In my opinion, due to this, players should have a chance of obtaining it!

For an set-up like this, it cannot be made common either! It should be elite!

Helm - Skulls are cool, who doesn't like skulls? Make some colored skulls or something! :)
Armor - Would be cool if Artisan or Expert's recolored. For example, Artisan in blue color with blue sparkles! Woot! :D
Weapon - Toyman! One of the oldest and best-looking weapons in-game. Would be really cool if you make something like a Toyman sword!
Shield - Why isn't Holoshield available anymore? :'( Remake it into a square or rectangular Holoshield maybe? :p

I like the melodic helmet because it gives a sparkle and I've always liked the ice gear because its got some power into it but what I really like about it is that the weapon freezes the enemies so they can't move (which in my opinion is awesome!) going back to the past when I first started PL when I got to level 30 and started using ice gear I used them until I was level 40 (without ears) cause I really like them I still even have the same ice stuff I had a year ago. I like the shivering armor because it gives that aura or whatever you would call it which is sweet and the weapon is always dripping with water makes it amazing! Thank you all for reading this post!

Description:

My favorite part of Pocket Legends is and always will be the Winter Fest Events. Having an outfit comprised of only Christmas-y items is the coolest thing eveeeeeeeeeerrrrrr, imo. I have many fond memories of farming in the Toy Factory and praying for pinks and purples, and this has been a tradition for me since the inaugural winter festival of 2010. Christmas is by far my favorite holiday and I am a fanatic of Christmas both in and outside of the game. My house is always the most nicely decorated one on the block, and I usually blow all my plat when Winter Fest comes around. It just shows you how obsessed I am with Christmas. If you guys put more effort into making the Christmas event awesome, it would make the game 10x better for me, period.

Ideas for Items:

Vanity Helmet: I've always liked the concept of taking bad guys' heads in PL maps and making them into vanities. The Zombie Head, Pumpkin Head, and the Frosty 'Nog are all great examples of this idea. Maybe next time Winter Fest is here, we could take the Toy Man's head or the head of an elf and make that into a vanity. I would be first in line to purchase that anyday.

Weapon: Even though the toy man wand and the candle wand are equal in stats, it's a simple fact that the toy man wand is much more visually appealing. You could easily take this 'toy man' concept and make it into a 2h hammer, a sword, a talon (may be odd), and etc. It would instantly become a hit.

Armor: One of my most prized possessions is my Festive Festival Leather from 2010. This could be brought back again during the next winter fest as a vanity armor of some sort but in a different color, such as green or white. If you do decide to bring it back, you should jumble up the patterns a bit or change the color so nobody gets upset a vintage item is being brought back.

Shield: The pretty present was a shield with stats in 2010 as a part of a pack, and also a vanity shield in 2012. Seeing how there are many color variations of this shield, you could easily change the base template to a unique color such as pink, purple, orange, etc.

When I read the title of the contest, "Rockin' Retro Gear Screenshot Contest", a lot of idea came to my mind. I have chosen different combinations of what I think is the best that will suit the contest's descriptions.*

First off, the head gear, Because of the concept "Retro", I have thought that my outfit must have the feel of an "old school" look, , that's why I chose thePrestidigitator Silk Hat of Mimicry*for my head gear. It gives me a "back in the days" look with a bit of class. This Fedora looking item was made famous back in the days and it makes your toon look like a "sir" (Kinda cool).

For the armor, I chose*Shooting Star Leather of Excitability, For me it is the most retro looking outfit in Alterra. It makes you look like you are going to the disco, sooo groovy and funky!

For the weapon, I don't think the devs are going to make a vanity out of this, so I chose the best display weapon in all of Alterra, the torch. Looking cool with those flames burning up.

Lastly, for the shield, I had a hard time thinking about what to choose for this but after reading the contest descriptions again, I thought of the perfect one(for me)... Since the contest title says "Rockin' Retro Gear", I gave emphasis on the "Rockin" part and looked for the shield that rocks best for me lol, after a while of browsing shields, I finally found the one. I chose the*Spooky Bone Cage Shieldbecause it's a skull, and skulls ROCK. It also symbolizes old school rock for me.

My toon looked old school retro punk rock. Sorry can't afford to buy the head gear so I went on CS just to take a screenie. Sry for bad English too, hope u understand tho.

Reason: This helmet is by far one of the most retro helmets there are. It has such a unique look to it with the open guard and the knight look. It can show who your true brawlers are in Pocket Legends.

New Name: Paladin's Rapier Of Blaze
Reason: This sword has a special feature to it...fire. Not many swords/weapons in this game have a cool feature as this one has. It gives your character that much more flare, with a sharp point on the end.

Armor Name: Bone Plate
New Name: Paladin's Coat Of Bravery
Reason: The old bone armor. This armor isn't worn by many and it should be. It's elegant look with the undead touch is very cool. For me it would be worn with details such as... "Fallen comrades have left behind their spirit and remains for you to fight on for the victory of Good." Just another cool armor in game that's been their from the start.

Shield Name: Conquerors Crystalline Shield
New Name: Paladin's Guard Of Courage
Reason: This shield is somewhat flashy but classy. It's the only shield in game with this type of look...besides vanity. It came from a great era of the Sandcaves and should be brought back to protect us more.

Witch hats of this kind can be seen worn by the NPCs throughout Alterra yet there have only ever been two variations available to be worn by players. This hat could easily be adapted into a green version, (as worn by Bayer the Mystic in Forest haven) or a red version etc. to allow greater variation of an old favourite.

Name: Ezeria's Rainbow Robes
First added as a high-end armour following the release of the Lost Expedition Campaign this robe is as retro as you can get. Currently this armour is only available in the store for enchantresses so perhaps new versions could be adapted for the other classes of Alterra.

Weapon Name: Royal Shadow Staff of Horus
This was my weapon of choice during the 45 cap but not due to it having great stats but for the vivid colour which differentiated it from other staffs at that time. It is a weapon that is rarely seen in use nowadays but I believe it still remains a very distinguishable item which could be adapted into other colours to and allow us to journey back to the the good ol' days.

Colorful, Awesome, Stylish. 3 words to describ perfectly those marvelous items.
- The Pole can be used in Humania town to fish - it reminds me all the good parties we made out there (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/showthread.php?61016-The-Fishing-Time!&highlight=party)
- The Juicy shield permits to hold fresh fishes.
- The Tiara reminds me the old designing contest (it was designed by a player if I remember well) which was made a really long time ago.
- The rainbow armor is just the best of all. Not many players use it, however, it is still just wonderful. Making it a vanity would make PL so shiny!
- The Chrome Logo reminds me the Chrome launching event, and bat wings Fang times.

All of these items are unique in their own way - I remember that the Rainbow Robe was at the beginning of PL (right from the start) and everyone would buy it for plat. Nobody buys it anymore because it's based off of stats, but I think it's sweet. The Khopesh was a weapon that a user made and I feel has been truly forgotten. It is such a neat weapon, with an awesome design (Red and Yellow), and I believe that the devs worked hard by implementing this in to the game. That's my reasoning :)

Description: I believe that these items should be turned into future vanities and high-end gear because firstly, the helmet, IMO, the Menace Helm of Ahnold is one of the most fiercest looking helmets in the game, when you see a Warrior put it on, it just makes them look so confident and brutal! I believe this helmet is highly underrated do to it's stats and should be turned into a future vanity helm, perhaps changing the design and adding to the blade it has by giving it TWO MORE head blades besides the original to make it even MORE aggressive looking? It's colors could have many options such as, Pure White, Pure Black, Yellow, Purple, Green, Blue and so on. Secondly, the Ursan Flaming Axe of Moon can be so much more, it's safe to say that this Axe DOES go with the Blacksmoke Mountain Campaign. What would make this weapon special? Remember the L71 Elite Axe from the BSM Preview? Well, why not make an Elite One-handed version of it?! That or add another blade to it's back end! This weapon would definately be a hit. Lastly, ah yes, the Sentinal's Armor of Death. The eerie smoke that glows out of this stealthy armor was enough to grab my attention when I first laid eyes on it, but not only that, the Black layout with the Grey shoulder pad was so simple that it actually worked! It is one of the coolest armors in the game and when combined to make a set, it looks amazing. How would you be able to make this armor different and even more appealing in the future? Maybe TRIPLING the SPIKES on the shoulder pads? The special effect can be EPIC BLACK FLAMES with howling dragons circling around it! Color assortions would be White, Silver, Black, Red, Orange, Blue, Purple, maybe even Teal? Overall this new set would look epic.

Helm: Cyber skull of the Void.

I chose this helm because I really like helmets the fully cover the face. This helm looks boss and would really work if you tuned it a bit to fit this set.

Armor: Conquerors Earthquake Plate.

The sandstone pinks are all very cool looking but earth armor looks best to me. If color chaned and made a bit bigger it would look awesome here.

1H Weapon: Khopesh of Osiris.

This is one of my favorite weapon designs. It looks amazing. I even have it a screenshot to see it from the side. Obviously color change it to fit the set but it looks beast.

Shield: Sheild of Gratitude.

This vanity came to PL a long time ago. I think you should keep it a long lost vanity. But I would like to see it sort of redesigned since its an amazing looking item. Maybe make it a bit large different colors and a little more rounded.

This set may look strange all together in the picture but that's only because all the colors are off. If you could color coordinate it and make the armor and shield larger and a little more buff I think this would be a boss retro set.

The Rainbow robes are one of the most unique looking items in the game in my own opinion. During the start of my Pl career I remember trying to farm for this armor constantly looking into cs trying to find them only to find out that they were only available through plat store... Hopefully the rainbow robes will become a vanity armor or maybe an armor in the future campaigns.
The Witch Toad hat is probably the funniest looking hat that I've come across. One of my most favorite items in the game.
Swamps is my favorite map with its torches and humorous drops. Love to see one of the swamps items become vanity.
The Banjo itself fits the competition name. Rockin retro. Wo doesn't like dancing with a banjo in their hand shooting snowballs.

At first, I thought the gear I chose were vanities. Anyways the conqueror earthquake hammer reminds me of the time I was farming in the sandstone caves. Plus, the best part of is that it's HUGE and perfect for smashing enemies. Long story short, I spent hours and hours doing the sidequest for the cyber set. Also, the glowing blue stuff on the cyber armor is cool because it reminds me of fireflies :). The strongman's reptilian helm reminds me of alien oasis more than nuri's hallows (Ironic, isn't it?) Personally, I always wanted an Egyptian hat. I like the snake-like thing sticking from the top of the helm (I don't know why). For the croc head wing, well it's a croc's head so of course I had to choose it.

I actually had to re-spec to equip all these items at once, because helm is int, weapon is str, wing is dex. But I fell in love with the frog hat when I saw another player wearing it, and then found the other swamp items later and just thought they were fun. I love the flies around the frog hat, and the blood dripping from the croc shield, and the weapon... What can I say, who doesn't like a lizard-ka-bob? Lol, I would love to see this gear immortalized as a set for a specific class or for all classes. The hat and shield could stay largely the same, and the weapon could be varied so its a spear or a wand or a dagger. The armor is pretty ho-hum, but I'm sure you could come up with others to suit each class' set :)

Raid roach recurve it is a sweet bow and reminds me of the good old sewer days, smoke as he is the coolest looking dragon so far, and red dragon helm and armor they are second coolest dragon items 35736 zombie head doesn't need an explanation, snipers battle crossbow coolest crossbow best crossbow I've seen and deserves to come back, cyber armor because of the blue around your hands. 35737. Ye ole tannenbaum just looks cool, raid roach armor is unique from the other armory and is very cool, and the red parrot coolest shield out there!

First off, I really dig the eyepatches because they just scream badass. Sad I wasn't able to get the furious eyepatch but would love to see more ingame of a different variety. May an eyepatch with skulls or even the PL logo. Eyepatches are not iust for pirates.;)

Second, the Hero packs were really awesome, but I feel like the Eagle Eye Bow got the least love. It is less flashier than all the other hero items though it just as cool! It just looks awesome with the little scope and the bling bling. This would be pimp in red or gold.

Lastly, the armor.. It has wings... angel wings! That's just cool. Ik dragon armors have wings too, but Legend armors are wayy sweeter. Also, not everyone got these, including newer player who see these and would probably want. :D

(Off of the list, but please consider) The minotaur alqays looked like walking, horned pigs to me. I love pigs, lol. And maybe it's time to be seeing some pets in the auction? Just thought it'd be cool.:)

Brief description why you think these items are the best Rockin' Retro Gear to be made into new versions.

Throughout the PL game, I have obsessed over dual wield items. Unfortunately, as a pure INT Enchantress, there are little options.
The Shadow Cave series of premium pinks brought to the game an unprecedented series of new weapons and equipment, one of which was the dual wield Mage Swords of Shadows. Even better was the fact that the Mage Swords were part of an actual set!

In short, I chose this set as my primary fashion adornment because of its weapons being one of the only, if not only, INT dual wields in the game.
Sadly, barely anyone dons this set, and thus I believe the reincarnation of the Shadows L50 Dual Wield INT set will successfully popularize this gear.
The addition of an Outlaw Cowboy Hat, Bat Wings (which are the same color scheme as the Shadows gear viewed from behind) and an optional Bats pet offers a great embodiment of the "dark" side of Pocket Legends, all with Sparkles included!

For vanitys, more floating items like coins or emblems could be added, maybe a new pet.

Why: This weapon looks awesome when equipped with any character. The special effects of the weapon also gives it a electrifying style while still maintining originality. I haven't seen any weapons (other than the ones with similar names), so to me it is pretty unique.

Helm Name: L50 Jacob's Helmet of the Void
Why: This is one of my favorite helms due to its unique style. I love its design, but its a shame its cheap now, since it deserves to be rarer.

Armor Name: L40 Pirates Starry Armor
Why: I love wearing this armor because it is very unique and different than all the armors. The colors and stars lightens up your mood. Plus I was always hunting in CS for one to be listed, so I grew a liking to it.

Weapon: Winterfest Cold Prickly Mace.
I think this mace is incredibly well designed, but not many people wear it because of the low stats it has. I think it would really look nice if it was recolored black with the same color smoke.

Armor: Battleforged Plate of Destiny.
I think this is one of the armors that looks the best on the bear, but isn't appreaciated because it's a common pink. I think adding a few red gem stones into the armor would make it look the best armor.

Shield: Conquerors Earthquake Shield.
I like this shield because it actually looks like a rock and mineral shield got from the earth. I think giving it a rock-falling visual effect would make it the best looking shield in game.

Why do I think these items are the best Rockin' Retro Gear to be made into new versions?

Let me start with the best looking helm ever; our beloved Dingy crown. This is a purple item that you could craft into the Crown of Persistance back in the Sewers days. Right now it's still craftable in the vanity version of the CoP. The design of this helm is simply epic and it looks great on all classes. Right now it's extremely rare and to be honest I doubted if I should post it, but lots of people seem to want it and who am I to deny them a chance to have it in the near future :rugby:

Then there is the Humania armor. I know this is pretty recent armor, but the design is just fabulous. This is mainly because the usage of 3 colors (on bird), instead of one or two. Plus the shoulders are asymmetric; one side has a shoulder patch with a gem on it.

To end my entry, I'd like to nominate a rarely seen staff from the Alien Oasis days. The Galzyx Dark Matter Staff helped me from lvl 43 to lvl 47. The design is stunning, just like the Laser Wand of the Cosmos, mainly because of the moving rings with the small lightning inside. Plus the color is Sunny yellow :onthego: To finish things off, it's dark bolt which beats fire and lightning everytime.

A few things (and sorry if I am the Debbie downer here):

1. The contest clearly states "Helm, Armor, and Weapon." Many people are posting current hats which are already vanities and shields. Make sure to read the official rules of the contest guys.

2. For those wanting to bring back old "vanities", I beg you to reconsider. Angel sets, CoP's, Mt. Fang armor, Founder's Helms, and so on are the only things left providing a sense of PL history. All games, on all platforms, have "limited edition" or "exclusive" items for a reason. Bringing back a distinguishable item will only cause MAJOR issues within the community. There is a reason Sam said to post pictures using "Helms and Armor" and not "Vanities." Let's keep it that way.

I love how the swift armour's shoulder isn't plain flat, but has some spikes and other parts with extra armour.(it's recent but I just love that tuffness) Therefore I also like the Crystal armor as its not as plain and the colours are interesting.
I like the tiki god armour because again it's not flat, but has the diamond pieces on its shoulder. I also love it's variety of colours which the swift armor could use.

Reason?
I love the glow in the eye.
And especially on birds how the shape seems really cool which stands out compared to other helms.(looks like a cool dragon head to me)

Everyone loves blasters. And I though the hi tech blaster really had nice details whih u can clearly see.

Well I just live how it looks.
Gurgox hammer?
I like the effects of the hammer and the glow.
I like the crystal sword mainly cause it's fully crystal with no wooden handle.
I like the elite sea blaster because if the details as u can seem from my picture.
The black shivering ice crossbow is the best item I have gotten from a quest. It's a weapon with nice effects that shoots out ice.
Then theres the sea blaster.
It's one of the most unique weapon for archers in the game as it is a "sea blaster"
Lol and it's a boat.
Finally for the khopesh sword. I just find it simply cool and beautiful.

Shields- Savage dragon master buckler. Guardian's kite shield of hate.

Reason?
The savage armour is probably myfavourite shield in the game. It has a nice design ad contrast on it and the spikes on the side just makes it better. It's a nice big shield which will surly to protect you! 8D
Finally I like the hate shield again because of the glow and effects on it.

Out of all the items in pocket legends I find the l50 cyber and shadow sets one of the best. (Also the crystal/onyx period because the gear wasn't plain as there was lots of work in the details with nice bright colours.)
Second wud be humania cap because if the colours.
Third the blacksmoke al because the gears show great str and power(with it's big shield and tuff savage armor)

Well....
That's all I gotta say.
So colours shapes and designs are a biggy.

Why?: I remember leveling up at the swamps, and while I went through my inventory liquidating the items I just got I couldn't get rid the Dreamer's Witch Toad Tiara. I love the idea of having a frog on your head, ;) and I especially love the flies that buzz around your head. I don't think I will ever trade or sell this item because of how unique it is. I think the Mirage Robe of the Cosmos is a very colorful and cool item and I would love to see it as a vanity. I've always liked gems, so I like the Dreamer's Onyx Staff a lot. Along with all the other items I love how it looks and I would love to wear it at Blacksmoke!!

Description : when it comes to bird gears, I like lite-weight gears (I mean which does not look heavy) and also i like those gears which suits birds as for example angel wings (angel armor) it is the best wings which looks decent and bit more closure to real one, if it come back obvioisly I would like to see this type of wings also if Devs decide to bring it back then, it's blue part should be re-colored as red, green stripes (textures) as i attached an image of real bird, the white part also maybe recolored with bit light-color texture to make it more real.

when angel was introduced it was appriciated due to its looks also, now who did not get it, will have a chance to wear a similar gear which would be also appreciated i'm sure.

Now we have a good wing as armor, we need helm which compliments it, the helm I choose not only matching with it but also a good looking helm was not used much cause it does not make a set which gives state value, well if the angel armor get re -colored then it also should be according to that, i.e light color strips.

Now coming to longbow, as there are many good bows in game frankly that looks like real heavy, which does not suits with birds, this bow which is shown in the screenshot is quite decent classy looking and matching with the other gear also.

Overall this set looks classy to me, and again if few light-colored strips added in that whole gear here and there it would be quite good looking set, a real bird's image is attached to show the color patterns.( it does not mean that the whole items should be reset, I just mean that it should be recolored a bit accordingly to real bird's color pattern.35867

The helm always remember me the ao3 days ( my first cap ) wich is my favorite days I passed on PL. The cyber quest was giving awesome stuff ( but not the best) for free! You had to be very patient tho. It was really hard and long to do those quests at lvl50.

The armor is the symbol of golden age of pocket legends imo. The gemstone is used by everyone as outfit because it looks awesome ofc but its more than a simple outfit for me, it remember me all the pulls in Sewer and all the awesome people I met during those runs through stronghold ( its was my favorite map cause of awesone pulls ).

And then the talon, I dont know the story of the talon but the colour is unique and have a pretty look. If this flashy green could be used on an other weapon it would be awesome.

I decided to create 3 sets and i hope you like them :)
My first one should be called Boned Nail Xbow set...the weapon (as it has some nails on it) should be able to do damage on more than one person....as banjo does, when players stay close together :) and as a set bonus it should have brown sparkles that look like fire balls

Obv I couldent wear them all but I think the hood would look good on the trenchcoat. Esspecially if re colored like white/grey or gray/black. Daggar could be remade as 2h or 1h sword also.

(Vanities) frosty top hat/deep mountain armor/winter 2012 pretty present/ and pet as coal balloon. (And armor is glyph charm set not really festive but it does make it look like an end boss suit in nuri's areas. Though I am thinking of fitting it with a dex prest set:/.

This festive setup should be brought back in maybe a later festive (xmas kinda time) update I feel most never got the chance to see what the combined set would look like (this is also due to people always asking me how I got the items in this here vanity set and that most of the items where gone in 3 days time). Seeing it retro done I could imagine would make the suit hat and present look amazing (since it already looks pretty dam cool to start with) on top of that it could maybe fit into maybe a new (deep mountain update/ if there is one) kinda thing so ya something to also think about if its chosen:suspicion:

Brief description why you think these items are the best Rockin' Retro Gear to be made into new versions.
This is a wide variety of pink items found throughout different levels of Pocket Legends.
What really persuaded me into choosing this as a contest entry was the sheer simplicity of each item's design.
My contest submission was designed after a purple-mystique theme that is displayed through the careful incorporation of three pinks.
The Hula Headdress is a simple purple-colored flowered wreath that accessorizes the player. It is both casual and vibrant.
The Apep Sunkiller Staff has a very pristine light blue look to it, as well as its luminescent effect, which further portrays the mystical nature of the gear.
Finally, a set centered around mystical gear is not complete without the flawless Glyph Cloth- its blue hieroglyphs in its center evoke a secretive look.
The scene in which I took my picture, the first map of Alien Oasis II, is enveloped in darkness but slightly illuminated by the shadowy, perhaps hi-tech, futuristic portal and the dim glow of the Apep Sunkiller staff.
The lush tropical palm tree scenery compliments the background of desert sand and darkness with a paradoxical fashion- always the expected environment of one who wears such gear of mystique.

But there is much more than looks that led me to this entry.
It was also the memory and experiences that pertained to each respective level campaign that these items hailed from.
The Apep Sunkiller Staff was always a favorite during its prime age, a strong and intimidating weapon, yet it has nearly all but disappeared today.
The Glyph Cloth reminds me of a time back when I first started playing Endgame Enchantress in PvP and PvE as my main.
And without a doubt, the Tiki Headdress reminds me of TechnoEmail and her incredible and crazy, yet appreciated and adored designs- most of her masterpieces are now known as the Humania Campaign pink gear.

While the looks may certainly appeal to many fashion-seekers, in the end, I hold true significance in this gear because of its sentimental meaning to me and many other older players of Pocket Legends.
Without any doubts, this is certainly what I believe to be the "best" Rockin' Retro gear to be resurrected.

Everyone wants to look cool, and this armor set always seemed cool to me. Sadly, it's not good enough compared to other sets for many people to use it (and you have to quest and spend plat on it to boot), so I rarely see it around. But if you saw someone who looked like that coming after you, I bet you'd run away. And the weapons, well, they just remind me of some of the last things you might see before a futuristic ninja takes you out.

And of course I wouldn't want to leave out some giant sword from the mix. So here's my pick.

The future set bonus would be sand colored smoke all around the character. One of the main reasons I love this set is because of the personal value it holds
to me. Also it just looks awesome :p I think it would be awesome if the kite shield could come back except with better stats. It was always one of my favorite shields. This would be reffered to as "Royal Pharaoh's Kite shield set".
Also, devs/mods or whatever: in the miraculous event that this set wins a place, could I please have the plat awarded to Superapper? Lorkep is my alt. just figured the set would look better on a bear.

Say hello to Snowfu, my character in Pocket Legends!! Here you will find his retro gear!

First here is his armor Mitas Dragon Master Armor.
Next we have his helm, Chiroptera Helm of the Dead, along with his vanity helmet, Golem Worshipper Mask.
Third we have his shield, Sanguine Chiroptera Bat Wing.
Fourth is his weapon, Scarab Blade of Legend.

Now you're probably asking yourself why I would think this is retro. First is because I dont believe in simple. I want things to be big, huge, EPIC!!!!
Thats exactly what this combination does. I think that it is a perfect example of how whimsy and Pocket Legends can combine to make a great costume.

I think that the angelic gear idea for the fang cappers and 50 $ spenders was a good idea. But there was one thing i did not enjoy. The set doesn't sparkle in any way! I thought that having the sets sparkle would be too much, but maybe the vanity agnelic gear. It would be a cool factor to have a sparkling set to those who deserved it awhile ago, especially for their low lvl alts who dont have as much sets that sparkle at such low lvls.

These items, though they are not pairs, are a melange of PL's history. The bone cloth is from the lower level campaigns and is one of my favorite armors. The glow stick would be an awesome end game item because it stands out from the rest of the weapons. The headdress on the other hand, a recent addition, would be nice to have as a vanity because it can pair with the bouquets or stand out alone as a pretty item. :)

Description : Bears are meant look solid and well protected in term of armor. The vanity armor looks gorgeous, and the red sign on it feels the danger, this item was introduced lately but it would be an awesome retro I'm quite sure. now about the helm.
Once it was a dream for me to get that helm, it feels well protect the weak part of a healthy bear, though I feel if devs recolor it and make it gold colored then it would be awesome, I personally would do several hundred runs to complete the quest which give these vanity items obviously if I had a bear that level.

So.. How can this suit be the best rocking gear? Well this suit devastates their opponent with all the red-coloring :P
It would be cool to have a variety of color combinations with gear which stands out from the other.
Also I haven't seen any same kind of gear or maybe it's just because red ins't the latest fashion uh? :D (I'd choose this gear if I would be the devil, Lol).

Brief description:

First off the weapon:
The wand is actually really, and I mean really an old design. If I'm not mistaken it's from the very first Christmas Event 3 Years ago. Well that's just a fact - what I think about it is way further.
Since I have ever seen it I always wanted one because of the very funny and epic look! (I have always something for funny items ;))

I know this wand had a comeback in the last Christmas but I would really love to see it again drop-able. Also if I may suggest a re-color idea: A new hat or face color would be pretty awesome in my opinion!

Regarding the Merrymaker Armor, well, like the Toyman Wand I think this armor looks pretty funny - I mean heck it's a clown suit!
I now the armor isn't really that old and would probably not really count as retro but the armor should not fade away, I never see many of those in a town. The design is too epic to let it "forgotten"!

If I may suggest a color change, the armor in aqua-marin blue would look pretty epic!

Lastly the Pa's Lucky Memorial cap from the Memorial weekend in 2012.

This hat had many names: Examples are Milk Man hat, Police Officer or the
Boeing 747 Captain's hat. ;)
I directly purchased the hat back then together with the first Dragon Armor and Helmet as vanities and never regreted it, it brought me much luck in the weekend because of that 40% Bonus (if I remember right), also it always brings me a lot attention in a town because not many people have it nor have ever seen it before.

That was a little off-topic, the reason why I would like to see it brought back is because It's really retro in my eyes and would be super awesome if it sees a come-back as well!

I know the hat is a vanity and probably against the rules, I just don't have the possibility to shoot a newer screenshot - I'm on vacation and this is the only screenie of my favourite items which I have at moment.

My alternative choose would be the Merrymaker Hair of Mimicry (the clown hair) this is by FAR my most favorite helmet in the game, reason is of course the funny look. ;)

If I can I will send a screenshot of it.

Love this new contest, thank you much! At first, I thought a lot about what kind of gear I would love to see brought back (and what might win the contest ;-)) but then I realized that I'd never be able to pick just three! So instead, I thought about what gear has been really awesome but forgotten. These are the ones that no one seems to use anymore (if ever) but that some talented people at STS clearly put their time and love into making these. One is a low level common that looks worthy of end game gear and the others are level fifty gear that are getting forgotten by anyone who didn't grind for totems at the level 50 cap. This gear Rockin' Retro Gear is the best gear to be made into new versions because to me and most others, they are the most creative. Lets begin with the helmet; the helmet is a different type of helmet in which your entire head is enclosed and you can still see your face. I love this helmet because not only does it rock, but it lets you reveal the beautiful skins that you have purchased for your toon. It is also a low level helmet so it isn't used a lot... Secondly the armor. To me, the armor is very creative because it's almost like camouflage. The green helps you blend in to many places and truthfully, it looks rockin'! Lastly, the weapon. This is a very low level weapon so it is almost never used. It's only used by merchants to trade and sell. This weapon is probably the most creative and coolest looking in the game that I would love to see it as a higher level! This is why I think that this gear is the best rockin' retro gear to be made into vanities!

-The idea for this helm would be to change the lighter gray spirals on the helm and make them an intense orange or fiery flame color. Keep the darker black part of the helm (which is seen in the middle/towards the sides) so that the flames will stand out or "pop out" on the black background of the helm.

-The eye piece of the helm should have a fiery glow (as seen in cyber gear, but make the color intense and orange/red)

-As you can see in the picture above, the helm has spikes in the back of it. These spikes should be replaced with flames that flicker (similar to the tip of the Torch, but longer)

- Both of these armors are the same, except recolored. The Expert armor is colored brown and orange/yellow while the Voodoo armor is red and with a dark maroon.

- The idea for the armor would be to recolor the dark color (maroon/brown as seen above) of the armor into a solid black color. The lighter part of the armor (the red or orange/yellow as seen above) would be colored a fiery color. The black background of the armor will make the fiery lighter color on the armor stand out.

- The collar of the armor can easily be turned black on the edge and have flames that extend upward towards that edge (as seen in the picture above on the Expert armor where the light yellow approaches the dark brown edge of the collar)

- This weapon can be found in the town of Nuri's Hallows where an archer shoots at a target with the Autobow seen above.

- The idea for this weapon would be to keep the exact same look of the face of the bow, recolor the silver middle piece of the bow to a black, and put flames in the center of the bow.

- These flames should be put in the center of the bow for added effect: (but not the floating bubbles because that looks gaudy)

- If you need an autobow to add the features (since the Autobow in Nuri's Hallows isn't a current playable weapon), you can use the Demonic Glyph Autobow (but get rid of the hieroglyphs and add flames):

Brief description: When the Alien Oasis themed helmets came out in the platinum store, everyone marveled over them and it reminded them of the level 45 STR gear (Thoth helmets). This helmet (i.e. Jewel Thief's Avian Helmet, although there are more of these helms with different colors in the platinum store) is a popular retro helm that brings back nostalgic memories of the glory days of the level 45 cap.

The Voodoo/Expert armor design hasn't been used since the level 56 Sewer cap. However, Voodoo armors are still worn by almost every single level 35 mage and Expert and/or Artisan leathers are worn by almost every single low level bear who twinks. When the Expert and Artisan leathers were introduced into the game, everyone raced to be the first few who received the recipe as a drop. As for the Voodoo armor and it's design, it's still one of the most widely popular armors and used years after it was introduced into the game.

As for the weapon choice, almost everyone can agree that Demonic gear is one of the best looking gear designs that was ever introduced into the game and should be brought back in some junction. In addition, archers need a ranged weapon such as the autobow in both PVP and PVE to combat and/or kite the Phoenix bow's extremely high damage and the extreme damage that enemies in the Blacksmoke campaign do.

The overall design of this dex set would have a fiery and flame look that would fit the Blacksmoke Mountain campaign. If designed right, this set would be one of the most highly sought-after and best looking sets in the game.
