View Full Version : Best pets for elite

Many people often discuss the best pets(obviously arcane). But I believe it would be helpful to name 2-5 must have pets that new players can get through Auction House. Preferably list pets costing 30k each or less. Please list the pet name, and its arcane ability since new players can't see what arcane abilities are in stable. I will start:

Warriors:
1) Ribbit (really all classes since "twisting ribbit" is a common practice) arcane ability increases crit chance by 40% for a short duration.

2) blight (extremely inexpensive), blights arcane ability releases a nova that reduces armor of all in range enemies by 10%.

3) deary (remember this list is for new players, so laugh to yourself). Deary is THE cheapest pet in the game, its common drop rate and its drops from klass is partially responsible for this. Deary grants +15 strength and dexterity to all Allies in range.

My top 5 "easy-to-get" choices for each class:

Warrior
1) Ribbit - farm Mother
2) Loki - about 18k or farm Elite Jarl
3) Koko - 75 Hauntlet coins
4) Rocky - from Beastmaster daily quests
5) Tankton - from Klaas

Sorcerer:
1) Blight - farm Kletus
2) Aspen - farm Gul Bellybottom
3) Flap Jack - farm Bael
4) Esteban - about 5k (?) or random drop in Brackenridge maps
5) Frost - from Klaas
(I didn't mention Colton here because he takes about 50 days to get)

Rogue
1) Horton - from Klaas
2) Granite - about 15k (?) or random drop in Rook's Nest maps
3) Meep-Moop - 100 Story tokens (about 20 days)
4) Flap Jack - farm Bael
5) Abigail - from Beastmaster daily quests
6) Blight - farm Kletus

EDIT: Not sure what I was thinking with the first post. This one is related to the thread author's request :)

He's really good against bosses with predictable windup attacks. Also good against keeping Bloodhammer from going crazy...

nobody listing flap jack so i will...

I am probably the only rogue in the game that does not use support of any of the flightless four :)

But I will correct this during leveling to 36, for sure ;-)

I really think Dart needs to become gold-purchased and not plat exclusive. Since the starter pets are 9k gold if you wish to buy them later, I would say make Dart 18-20k gold. He's a really underrated pet who I'm leveling up right now. His arcane ability has a very short cooldown (12 sec) and the 6 seconds of -10% dmg reduction for party is noticeable while running elites (especially against archers in Rook's Nest, etc.). I suppose you could technically "twist" this arcane ability with another person in your party using Dart, giving you endless -10% dmg reduction. What do you think?

I normally use Guapo and if things get tough it's Shiloh ftw.

Sometimes when things get hectic I summon Egbert the Enchidna for survivability or Ollie the Ostrich.

Oh! Nice necro of ancient thread -_-

its a guide :) but now that its been a few years, it would be nice for an update on the best pets used now that we have animacity.

There were a couple of threads about pet combinations when animancy was realeased, Maybe you should resurrect those instead ...

For players on a budget who can't afford myth/arcane pets, you can have an almost immature glowstik in bat skin lol, for the cost of around 400k

Vlad as a host pet for his passives:
Dmg up to three near by targets, has chance to bleed, stun, and reduce enemies chance to hit by 15%.

Nightshade (slot) happy bonus +15 all stats, +20 primary stats,17% dmg, 6% crit, dmg reduced by 2%

Nilbog (slot) aa: poison puke that applies dmg and slow to enemies. Removes debuffs (including cocoons) and gives DoT immunity (use to prevent curse) for 5 seconds.

The above I have used in the somberholt maps, the combo works well :)

He can't fit in. But could use his aa over nilbog's. But, i prefer nil's :)

An affordable somberholt pet combo for graveyard and mausoleum 1+2 is......

Blinky for passives - alternative to Grimm for debuffs (suggested by Avikk below).

Fenris for happiness bonus - free event pet, 5% armour bonus plus 15% speed boost.

Slink for AA - DoT and Paralysis (stun), fast cooldown of AA, pools auto target based on allies position, hence widespread area.

P.S This is a budget suggestion.

I really love this pet animacy thing. Whoever thought of it in the STS offices needs a pay rise and also.......

GIVE THAT PERSON A CIGAR!

I feel like Blinky has a more consistent debuff compared to Grimm. PvE wise that is.

I've totally overlooked Blinky as a heavy debuff pet. I'll re-edit my post as it's based on giving a good cheap pet for the masses to use in Somberholt.
