View Full Version : What are your winning Team Tactics in PVP?

I started playing PVP in endgame lately and I like it very much. Without myth it's not easy but fun anyway. I like the teamplay 5v5 most.

Sometimes I die in an instant, sometimes the other way round and this had nothing to do with the mythic gear of my teammates.

Searching the forum I found nothing about tactics in teamplay. So here comes my very first post:

What are your "winning" tactics in PVP?

Let me start with some examples:

A good one ist the "meatschield" I think. One tank (with mythic) is in front and takes the aggro from the whole other team. The rest kills them one by one while they focus on the tank (yes they do). OK, without mythic I need HoR, heal from mage and packs from rogues but works often. Even if I die it gives my team enough time.

I like the "hurricane", as i would call it, too. This means two warries run side by side through the enemy team with windmill on and HoR shield.

What I don't like -but is very effective- are those "zombies/spies" that are friends of the other team and just stand around or even "steal" the healing packs from rogues.

I am looking forward to your posts :-)

Grats for reaching the endgame and having the will to try.gald you enjoy it.
It is teamplay basing imho.

There are a few strategies on these depending how the teams setup.the players game play and such.a few that i know:
Mages commence attack by stun.rogues step forward to make first kills while shielded by tank
Tank shielding rogues when facing at least 2 tanks.while shieldied rogue aims for the op rogues and mages at the back.aftr tht then its easy.
Mages now kills too.cn be in between attacks due to their ability to shield stun n inleash dmg.its nt a rare thing to see mage kill a tank at first encounter nowadays.
Tanks meatshielding and retreat back to defend the rogues n mages at the back when the 2nd tactic above are used
Rogue fast kills bfore a mage cn unleash stun.usually a charged aomed n sp will do the job.

Those were among the common tactics to me.im sure theres more based on diff setup.what i like now is to have a setup of 2 tank 1 rg n 2 mgs.kinda strong i think.

My strategy is as follows:

1) attack the other team relentlessly until they all die

2) wait for them to respawn on the other side of the map and repeat #1

:playful:

It all depends upon the situation you are in...
Sometimes even players with just legendary items can kill mythic teams...
Always need to improvise when fighting..

And here are some facts:
That there are:
1. 59049 (3^10) combinations of teams possible in CTF and 6561 (3^8) combinations in TDM.
2. Secondly considering the 8 skill sets (still not counting the passives) available to each player, there are 80^80 = 1.76x(10^152) (i.e. 1 followed by 152 zeroes) possible combinations of working active skill sets. (160^160 if you include passives also, this goes way beyond calculable by computer.)

Now, plz don't feel offended :), however it would create a book larger than whole world to describe the strategies for all the combinations of fighting...

There is one solution :
You can discuss on how to defeat a particular set of team,
Suppose you have 4 warriors on opposite side.
one strategy would be using vixen pets to separate them so that they can't heal each other and then blast them... ;)

Maybe that's why AL is so addictive ;)

Since I am not Sun Tzu lets narrow it down to the "standard lineup" for a team then:
1 or 2 warries (with Vengefull B, Horn, Windmill, Smash or Axethrow)
1 or 2 rogues (with piercer, heal, aimed, aimed and yes aimed shot)
1 or 2 mages (with fireball, shield, heal, time)

How would you attack as team?

Running in room and leaving a match uses same verb but different definition perhaps.

Well...for me there's always two rules to good tanking.

1st: Never tank alone.
2nd: Never die. ^^
