Gold payouts for loot

Can anyone explain why gold prices for loot are off? For example, a brown lvl 60 loot sells for 161 gold, green for 192 gold, and purple for 53 gold? Why are the purple loot prices so low? Seems shady that the higher tier loots are the cheapest. :disturbed:

Purples are lootable through quests.
